1 Application for exchange at London College of Communication in the spring/summer semester of 2015 Enlightened by Rasmus Ankersen s statement, A winner is a loser, who has evaluated him self, I believe that it is necessary to constantly be able to adapt to new situations and to be open towards trying new approaches when solving problems. The field of communication is ever changing, and especially the process of globalisation and the increase of social medias are influencing how one should approach the study of communication. Through my internship at youneed:us I was able to apply my theoretical knowledge gained at DMJX to more practical issues when dealing with marketing and digital media. After having evaluated the skills I have gained through my current study programme and internship, I felt that there was one thing missing which would help me become a winner as a future communication employee. I need a more international perspective to improve my skills and education. I have previously sought to gain this perspective though American and British marketing blogs in an attempt to be up to date and learn even more, however I feel that it is not enough. I want to be even better in my field and it is obvious for me, that going on an exchange programme at LCC will help me gain the international perspective that I wish to acquire. I will apply for the following courses at BA PR year 2: Media Relations & Social Medias, Promotional Media Communication and Collaborative Projects. All three courses are focused on issues I have been working with during my internship, and they are all relevant for my further education. The courses will give me a new and also more international perspective on the knowledge I gained during my internship and I therefore have no doubts that a semester on LCC will help me fulfil my goals. I wish to be an exchange student at London College of Communication because it is a school specialising in art, communication and media. I see LCC as an interesting environment where diverse people such as journalists, photographers, graphic designers etc. are clustered in an inspiring environment. To me, this diverse environment can help me see new approaches when working with communication due to the collaborative nature that exists between students from different fields. As an exchange student at LCC I will consequently have the opportunity to develop my professional English skills, which is crucial when working with communication in a globalised world. Furthermore, the courses at LCC will give me the opportunity to deepen my knowledge in more cultural focused approaches to communication, which is one of my core interests within communication. I believe that every market segment is different, and, consequently, when working with the strategic perspective of communication, the cultural context in which a specific market segment exists is crucial when developing a strategy of communication. The LCC enables me to utilise various models for PR in a more strategic context which unquestionably is a big reason for me to choose LCC. I believe that utilising this approach will be constructive when investigating and eliminating the barriers that is in they way of changing the minds of different target groups. Consequently, the courses at BA PR spring/summer 2015 are courses that allows me to specify my education in the field I want to work with in the future digital communication like social medias, blogs, marketing etc. I hope that you will consider my application because I think that LCC will increase my knowledge gained from previous semesters and internship as well as help me enhance and develop my understanding for PR, collaboration and online medias.

3 Recommandation Katrine Sparre Vestergaard Praktiksted: youneed:us, Nørregade 22 C, 4600 Køge.
