2 What is Zero Carbon Network? Zero Carbon Network An initiative for companies on Sealand that works with Co2 reduction schemes. The overall goal is to reduce Co2 emissions on aggregate level. Network includes ambitious companies from the region, that will develop and implement Climate accounting system, followed by initiatives and activities that will in fact decrease emissions of Co2. P. Ellegaard A/S has been a member since beginning of 2008.

11 What is the commitment? Establish an accounting system and routine that includes and display a standardized system for measuring Co2 emissions for the actual company. Develop a climate vision for the Company Develop a climate strategy for the company.

13 Climate vision for P. Ellegaard A/S Our internal behavior has to reflect our respect for the environment, for the resources that we manage and for the people around us. We will continuously monitor and measure the P. Ellegaard A/S Co2 emission and we will take actions to reduce our company related emission by 10 % per year. Beside good energy saving behavior internally we will commit ourselves to the development of energy optimized products and components within our field. Hence our Polymax drum motors, our Polymax Conveyor belts and the rollers will be manufactured in the light of our climate vision. Specifically we will research in the HYECON project for environmentally more friendly products.

14 Climate strategy: What do we actually do at P.Ellegaard A/S? Internally Fuel saving program remove all unnecessary tools from the vans Measure tire pressure on each service van and sales rep. Car. Monthly Fuel saving tires (Michelin) Power consumption all the boring stuff: Turn off the light, turn off the PC, turn off the coffee machine etc.

17 Initiatives directed towards the market place: Development of products and components that can assist our customers in reducing their emission level. Furthermore harvest the economical savings in reduced power consumption. Development of easy to clean conveyor belts. From 1500 to 1200 to 300 liters of water on 10 meter long conveyor belt. Development of cold motor for the food industry Weight and friction optimization of conveyor rollers. Alternative to trucks moving soil from big building projects (Metro Cph.). Special conveying system shows vast savings in energy.

18 The initiatives will altogether provide savings on Energy bill. This will add to the competitiveness in the company Our strategy concerning our own developed product range will help our customers saving energy and thereby reduce Co2 emissions.
