3 3 1. Calculation of the rate for pilotage services 1.1 Cost-based rates The Danish Pilotage Authority s rate system is cost-based. The rates are adjusted according to the general trend of prices once a year. The basis of calculation is described in Chapter Rate elements The rate for pilotage services is made up of: 1. A basic charge. The basic charge is the same for all vessels. The basic charge appears from Chapter A supplement to the basic charge. The calculation and amount of the supplemental charge appear from Chapter A Mileage charge per piloted nautical mile. The calculation and amount of the mileage charge appear from Chapter 3. The number of piloted nautical miles appears from Chapter Beginning and end of rate calculation The rate is calculated from the first time the pilot embarks the vessel until the last disembarkation or until the last port with the pilot on board. 1.4 Shifting In the event of shifting in the same port, only a supplement to the basic charge is charged. However, the amount must as a minimum correspond to the actual costs of one (1) hour s shifting, see Chapter Standby charge in connection with requesting, cancelling and re-requesting The Danish State Pilotage Provider charges a standby charge per hour or fraction of an hour until the pilotage begins, see Chapter 3, when: pilotage does not begin within one (1) hour of the requested time; during pilotage a stop is made for provisioning, bunkering, planned machinery repairs or for some other reason not due to the pilotage or the navigation of the vessel, and the pilot remains on board and when a vessel has run aground and a pilot is called to refloat the vessel When pilotage services are cancelled, a cancellation fee is charged corresponding to one (1) hour s standby charge. In addition, the costs of the pilot s travel for the cancelled pilotage service are paid, see Example 7 in Chapter When pilotage services are cancelled and a subsequent request for pilotage services is made for the same service at a later point in time, the following amounts must be paid - a cancellation fee corresponding to one (1) hour s standby charge plus any travel expenses of the pilot when the Danish State Pilotage Provider is able to use the pilot for other services and - a cancellation fee corresponding to one (1) hour s standby charge plus a standby charge per hour or fraction of an hour during the period from the time of re-requesting the pilotage service to the start of the re-requested pilotage service when the Danish State Pilotage Provider is not able to use the pilot for other services, see Example 10 in Chapter Transshipment (STS operations) The pilotage rate for transshipment between vessels (STS operations) is calculated separately as a pilotage service with a basic charge, a supplement to the basic charge and two (2) hours preparation, see Chapter Simultaneous pilotage of several vessels

4 4 When a pilot operates several vessels simultaneously, the costs, and consequently the rate for the individual vessel, are distributed at the discretion of the Danish State Pilotage Provider. 1.8 Towing In the event of towing, the deepest draught, the greatest breadth and the total length of the towing unit and towed unit together are used as the calculation basis for the supplement to the basic charge and the mileage charge. 1.9 Payment for extraordinary tasks, including pilotage in icy waters and ports The Danish State Pilotage Provider s extra costs for solving extraordinary tasks in connection with pilotage services provided are added to the ordinary charge for the pilotage service. The Danish State Pilotage Provider s extra costs for pilotage in icy waters are added to the ordinary pilotage rate Payment for pilotage services etc. not covered by the Rate Book The payment for pilotage services not covered by the Rate Book is determined as the Danish State Pilotage Provider s costs of providing the pilotage service. If possible, the costs are calculated based on a comparable route in the Rate Book Travel expenses To cover travel expenses, 7% is added to the total of the basic charge, supplement to the basic charge, mileage charge, shifting, standby charge and extraordinary costs.

Examples Example 1: Piloted distance: Great Belt S to Kalundborg Road Vessel Length overall, LG m Breadth extreme, BR 23.75m Deepest draught 9.20m Factor, LG * BR x23.75 = 4026 According to the distance table in Chapter 4, the distance between Great Belt S and Kalundborg Road is 63 nautical miles. According to the table for supplemental charge and mileage charge in Chapter 3, factor 4026 corresponds to line 16. According to the draught table in Chapter 3, the amount appears seven lines under line 16 = line 23 at a draught of 9.20m. Line 23 in the table for supplemental charge and mileage charge stipulates a supplemental charge of DKK and a price per piloted nautical mile of DKK 140. According to the table for supplemental charge and mileage charge in Chapter 3, factor 1155 corresponds to line 8. According to the draught table in Chapter 3, the amount appears two lines under line 8 = line 10 at a draught of 4.10m. Line 10 in the table for supplemental charge and mileage charge stipulates a supplemental charge of DKK954,- Consequently, the price of the pilotage service is: Supplement to basic charge 954 As the supplemental charge is less than the price of one (1) hour s shifting, it is taken from the table for basic charge, supplements to basic charge, mileage charge, shifting and standby charge. 10 10 Guidelines: The rate table applies to vessels with a draught between 0 and 3.49m. For vessels with a deeper draught, the following applies: For vessels with a draught between 3.50m and 3.99m, the values 1 line under the LB*BR factor apply. For vessels with a draught between 4.00 m and 4.49 m, the values 2 lines under the LB*BR factor apply. For vessels with a draught between 4.50 m and 5.49 m, the values 3 lines under the LB*BR factor apply. For vessels with a draught between 5.50 m and 6.49 m, the values 4 lines under the LB*BR factor apply. For vessels with a draught between 6.50 m and 7.49 m, the values 5 lines under the LB*BR factor apply. For vessels with a draught between 7.50 m and 8.99 m, the values 6 lines under the LB*BR factor apply. For vessels with a draught between 9.00 m and m, the values 7 lines under the LB*BR factor apply. For vessels with a draught between m and m, the values 8 lines under the LB*BR factor apply. For vessels with a draught between m and m, the values 9 lines under the LB*BR factor apply. For vessels with a draught between m and m, the values 10 lines under the LB*BR factor apply. For vessels with a draught between m and m, the values 11 lines under the LB*BR factor apply. For vessels with a draught between m and m, the values 12 lines under the LB*BR factor apply. For vessels with a draught of m and above, the values 13 lines under the LB*BR factor apply. The length extreme (LG) of the vessel is multiplied by the breadth extreme (BR) of the vessel. This produces the LG * BR factor. The amount per piloted nautical mile is set out in the Mileage charge column on the basis of the LG * BR factor found. The supplement to the basic charge is set out in the Supplement to basic charge column on the basis of the LG*BR factor found.
