2 Editorial By Søren Fløe Knudsen, CEO Year 2010 is well commenced. The fine result we achieved in 2009 will be difficult to attain in We expect a significant decrease in the turnover as well as on the bottom line. Among other things, this has resulted in a cost-cutting programme which was initiated at the beginning of the year. Cutbacks are and will be necessary in order for us to manage in future. Without these initiatives the Danbor Service Group will not be competitive. Parts of the Trucking Department have been liquidated. Regrettably, this has been a necessary action. In this connection, we unfortunately had to give notice to some of our colleagues, who have worked hard for the company. For this I thank them and I wish them all the best for the future. Haulage activities for AGA and Maersk Oil on the harbour will continue. It has also been necessary to give notice to some of our OCG employees, primarily because of low activities in the North Sea. I thank them too for the great efforts they have made. We have to move on. We shall be the best. We shall supply the best services at the best prices. We shall keep our expenses down, and we shall have the most secure work environment. This may be said before, but cannot be repeated enough times. These are the goals and can only be achieved if we all pull together. When I say all, I mean all employees in the company: contract workers, blue collars as well as white collars. Danbor Service is our workplace. Together let us improve it for the benefit of our clients, owners and not at least for ourselves. With pleasure, we can today observe that our previous investments in business development pay off. In Brazil, Maersk H2S Safety Services activities have increased steadily which is why we have decided to establish a new subsidiary. Likewise, I can inform you that our cooperation with Royal Arctic Line has resulted in the establishment of the joint venture Arctic Base Supply. The new company is registered in Nuuk, but will also be operating from other harbours in Greenland depending on the various clients and assignments. Both new companies have great potential but they will also meet large challenges will bring large challenges, and for this we should be pleased. These challenges will help us to develop as individuals as well as our mutual business so that we will become better and stronger. Forord Vi er nu godt i gang med Det gode resultat, som vi opnåede i 2009, bliver svært at opnå i Vi forventer en væsentlig tilbagegang både på omsætningen og på bundlinjen. Dette har bl.a. resulteret i et spareprogram, der blev iværksat ved årets begyndelse. Besparelserne er og vil være nødvendige, for at vi kan klare os i fremtiden. Uden disse tiltag vil Danbor Service ikke være konkurrencedygtig. Dele af vognmandsafdelingen er blevet afviklet. Det er med beklagelse, men det var desværre nødvendigt. I den forbindelse har vi desværre været nødt til at opsige nogle af vores kollegaer, som alle har ydet en stor indsats for virksomheden. Det skal de have tak for og de ønskes held og lykke i fremtiden. Kørslen for AGA og Maersk Oil på havnen vil fortsætte. Ligeledes har det været nødvendigt at afskedige nogle af vores OCG-medarbejdere, primært på grund af den lavere aktivitet på Nordsøen. Til dem skal der også lyde en tak for deres indsats. Vi skal videre, vi skal være de bedste, vi skal levere den bedste service til de bedste priser, vi skal holde omkostningerne nede, og vi skal have den mest sikre arbejdsplads. Dette er sagt før, men kan ikke gentages ofte nok. Disse mål kan kun opfyldes, hvis vi alle trækker i samme retning, og når jeg siger vi gælder det alle i hele virksomheden, timelønnede, kontraktansatte og funtionærer. Danbor Service er vores arbejdsplads. Lad os sammen gøre den bedre til gavn for vores kunder, ejere og ikke mindst os selv. Vi kan i dag glæde os over, at investeringer i forretningsudviklingen, som er foretaget tidligere, er begyndt at give pote. I Brasilien er Maersk H2S Safety Services aktiviteter støt stigende, hvilket har medført beslutningen om at etablere et datterselskab der. Det er nemlig dem, der er med til at udvikle os og vores forretning, så vi bliver stærkere og bedre. New Report Describing the Sustainability Strategy By Per H. Lorenzen, HSEQ Manager For many years, HSSE (Health, Safety, Security and Environment) has been one of Danbor Service Group s key priorities. Committed employees constant focus on HSSE has to a great extent contributed to the very low accident frequency, which is distinctive for the Danbor Service Group. Through the recent years, the concept CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) has become one of the implements which the A. P. Moller Maersk Group uses to illustrate the group s social responsibility. The latest addition is a Sustainability Strategy which is a strategy describing our environmental sustainability. Transparency is a keyword in the strategy which combines the HSSE and CSR initiatives of the company and makes it visible to all interested parties. In 2009, the A.P. Moller Maersk Group signed the UN Global Compact agreement, which obliges all Business Units within the A.P. Moller Maersk Group to keep a number of ethical rules governing social responsibilities. Apart from this, Group Sustainability in Copenhagen has prepared the Maersk Principles of Conduct which outline the overall framework which the Business Units in A.P. Moller Maersk should meet when it comes to HSSE and CSR. Based on the Maersk Principles of Conduct and the long term business strategy of Danbor Service, the HSEQ Department in Danbor Service has prepared a report dealing with the Sustainability Strategy of the Danbor Service Group. The report describes the background and the creation of the Danbor Service Group s CSR statements, but it also introduces the Danbor Service Group s present HSSE performances. Ny rapport, der beskriver Danbor Services Sustainability Strategy HSSE (Health, Safety, Security and Environment) har gennem mange år været et af de vigtigste fokusområder for Danbor Service Gruppen. Engagerede medarbejderes konstante fokus på HSSE har i høj grad medvirket til den meget lave ulykkesfrekvens, som er kendetegnende for virksomheden. Gennem de senere år er også begrebet CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility virksomhedernes sociale ansvar) kommet med i rækken af midler, som virksomhederne bruger for at synliggøre deres sociale ansvarlighed. Det seneste skud på stammen er en Sustainability Strategy, som er en strategi for miljømæssig bæredygtighed. Gennemsigtighed er nøgleordet i strategien, som forener og synliggør virksomhedens HSSE- og CSR-tiltag overfor interessenter. I 2009 underskrev A.P. 3 Greenland is Moving in Closer By Steen O. Hansen, Senior General Manager For a long time, we have been working intensively to establish a shorebase-support business in Greenland. In year 2008, we signed a letter of intent with Royal Arctic Line regarding our cooperation in Greenland which stated our mutual sales efforts towards the oil companies who have ensured exploration licenses in the Greenlandic shelf. In the beginning of 2010, we established the joint venture Arctic Base Supply A/S. The new company is registered in Nuuk. During the last couple of years, we have held several meetings with the Edinburghbased oil and gas company Cairn Energy PLC ( who will be the first to start drilling in a long line of licensees to exploit the Greenlandic shelf. In May 2010, we signed a three-year logistics agreement covering Carin Energy s operation in Greenland. The drilling operation is expected to begin in June 2010 and has a weather window of approx. five months. The new company, who will mainly provide services from the owners (Danbor Service and Royal Arctic Line), will face huge challenges. This is based on the fact that two drilling units, Stena Forth and Stena Don, have been chartered. Together with nine support vessels, the drilling units will ensure that four holes in the Sigguk field (200 nautical miles west of the Disko Island) will be drilled in a safe and efficient way. Additionally, three large Sikorsky helicopters, a wareship, which is a floating warehouse, and a plane, which will fly 30 persons from Great Britain to/from Kangerlussuaq every second day, have been chartered. According to the information given, operation activities will take place in Nuuk, Sisimiut, Aasiaat and probably in Illulisaat as well. We are to deliver services in all of these towns. The main activities will take place in Aasiaat, which is where we will station one of our logistics employees from the office in Esbjerg. To operate a shorebase for Cairn in Greenland is a big step for Danbor Service and we look forward to the challenge. It is important that we and Royal Arctic Line provide an optimal, professional and effective operation in the challenging surroundings. In this way we will establish a good reputation for Arctic Base Supply as well as for Danbor Service and Royal Arctic Line in relation to the coming assignments estimated to commence in the years 2011 and not only assignments from Cairn but also from other large oil and gas companies, who will soon commence their drilling programs in Greenland. Det bliver en kæmpe udfordring for Arctic Base Supply, som i vid udstrækning vil købe serviceydelser fra ejerne (Danbor Service og Royal Arctic Line). At operationen bliver udfordrende, bekræftes af følgende fakta: Der er indcharteret to boreenheder, Stena Forth og Stena Don, som sammen med ni supportskibe skal sikre, at de fire huller i Sigguk-feltet (200 sømil vest for Diskoøen) bliver boret på en sikker og effektiv måde. Derudover er der lejet tre store Sikorsky-helikoptere; et wareship, som er et flydende varehus; samt et fastvinget fly, som hver anden dag vil flyve 30 mand fra Storbritannien til/fra Kangerlussuaq (Søndre Strømfjord). Der vil, efter hvad der er oplyst, blive aktiviteter i Nuuk (Godthåb), Sisimiut (Holsteinsborg), Aasiaat (Egedesminde) og muligvis også i Illulisaat (Jakobshavn) - og vi skal levere serviceydelser i alle byer. At skulle være shorebase for Cairn i Grønland er et stort skridt for Danbor Service, og vi ser frem til udfordringen. Det er af afgørende betydning, at vi sammen med Royal Arctic Line yder en optimal, professionel og effektiv operation i de udfordrende rammer, og dermed gør god reklame for os selv i forhold til de næste opgaver, som allerede kommer i årene 2011 og 2012 ikke kun fra Cairn, men også fra andre store olie- og gasselskaber, som snart går i gang med deres boreprogram i Grønland. 4 Working at Heights Christina from Esbjerg to Aberdeen By Kristina L. Mouritsen, Sales and Marketing Assistent In October 2009, our former trainee Christina Cramon left Esbjerg and moved to Aberdeen to start her new job as Logistics Coordinator in Danbor Services Ltd. Christina was trained shipping agent in June 2009 after having worked two years in the Logistics Department in Esbjerg. In her final project she described the start-up of our office in Aberdeen and during this assignment she was offered to go to Aberdeen for four weeks to experience the start-up of a company at close hand. Shortly after ending her four weeks in Aberdeen, she was offered the job as Logistics Coordinator and she gladly accepted right away. This is a great opportunity to broaden my knowledge of shipping and also a great personal experience, Christina says. One of her daily tasks is, among many others, to receive offshore goods from the customers vendors. Once a week, Christina tells, the goods are packed and sent to various rigs according to a list from the rigs agents. This list is based on records of goods we have received in our warehouse. When the goods are ready to be shipped offshore, it is packed in containers and hauled miles to the Port of Grimsby where the containers are shipped by supply vessels to the various rigs. In the office in Aberdeen, there are five white-collar workers which all have a close cooperation but with each ther responsibilities. Also, there is a good teamwork with the blue-collar workers. They are responsible for the control of all received consignments and they update the inventory list on a daily basis. Christina believes she has a solid background knowledge from her time as trainee in Danbor Service, Esbjerg. The shipping agent education in Denmark is wide and comprehensive and has taught me a little about many areas instead of knowing all about one area, says Christina. Aberdeen is not far from Esbjerg but nevertheless it is different to live in a new country. I have experienced funny situations where I have misunderstood the Scottish language, Christina laughs, particularly truck drivers stopping by at the office have many special sayings and expressions. But overall Christina does not find the culture in Aberdeen much different from the Danish one, even though the Scotsmen tend to go out more in the evenings, e.g. to celebrate birthdays. Even if it has required patience, courage and openness, Christina feels that her time in Aberdeen has been very good so far. Her everyday life works. The job is exciting, the colleagues are great and the leisure time is spent on new friends and sports. Christina blev udlært speditør i juni 2009 efter to år som elev i speditionsafdelingen i Esbjerg. I sin afsluttende fagprøve i elevtiden beskrev hun opstarten af vores Aberdeen-kontor og i den forbindelse blev hun tilbudt at tage til Aberdeen i fire uger for at fornemme, hvilke problem-stillinger dette kunne give. Efterfølgende fik hun tilbudt jobbet som Logistics Coordinator, som hun straks sagde ja tak til. Det ville være en stor chance for at udvikle mig mere indenfor speditionsfaget og samtidig en stor oplevelse personligt, siger Christina. En af hendes mange daglige opgaver er blandt andet at modtage offshoregods fra kundernes leverandører. En gang om ugen, fortæller Christina, pakkes og sendes godset ud til flere forskellige rigge i henhold til en oversigt fra riggenes agenter. Oversigten fra agenterne laver de ud fra lister over gods, vi har modtaget på vores varelager. Når godset er bestemt til at skulle offshore, bliver det pakket i offshorecontainere og kørt miles til Grimsby, hvor supplybåde bringer godset sikkert frem til riggene. På kontoret i Aberdeen arbejder fem funktionærer, som alle har et tæt samarbejde, men med hver deres ansvarsområder. Der er ligeledes et tæt arbejdsforhold med lagermedarbejderne, som har ansvaret for at kontrollere alle leverancer og forsendelser. Ligeledes holder de dagligt lageret ajour. Christina føler, hun har en god baggrundsviden fra sin elevtid i Danbor Service, Esbjerg. Speditøruddannelsen i Danmark er bred og alsidig og har lært mig lidt om mange områder i stedet for meget om et område, udtaler Christina. Aberdeen er jo ikke så langt væk fra Esbjerg, men alligevel er det anderledes at bo i et nyt land. Jeg har oplevet sjove episoder med at forstå det skotske sprog, siger Christina med et smil på læben, specielt fra chauffører, der kommer ind på kontoret. De har ofte specielle udtryk og udtalelser. Generelt synes Christina, at kulturen i Aberdeen minder meget om den danske kultur, dog går skotterne mere ud om aftenen og mødes også mere ude i byen til f.eks. fødselsdage. Selvom det til tider har krævet stor tålmodighed, meget mod og åbenhed, føler Christina, at tiden i Aberdeen ind til videre er gået rigtig godt. Hverdagen fungerer, arbejdet er spændende, kollegaerne er søde og fritiden bruges på nye venner og sport. By Mark McLeman, Operations Manager Employees coming to Norway in future to work will have to stop by the office for a refresher on work at heights and dropped objects. These issues will be Maersk H2S Safety Services safety campaigns for 2010 in Norway. Focus on dropped objects will include a review of working habits with hand tools and equipment supplied. Each employee will be requested to review and suggest additional safety measures to stop the drop. Hand tools will be marked Maersk H2S Safety Services Norway to give traceability offshore, if forgotten or lost. Arbejde udført i højderne Medarbejdere, der kommer til Norge i fremtiden for at arbejde, skal forbi kontoret i Stavanger for at få en genopfriskning af arbejde, der udføres i højderne samt hvordan man forhindrer tabte genstande. 5 The Smallest Company with the Longest Name By Roberto Rodarte, Operations Manager Maersk H2S Safety Services operations in Brazil started in At that time it was a branch of Maersk Contractors and primarily operated by two MISE* trainees. The following year, the Venezuelan Operation Superintendent Ramiro Nasser was transferred to Rio to handle and develop the Brazilian operations. At the beginning, it was mainly expat supervisors who worked in Brazil, but in 2003 a local supervisor and I were hired to handle the operation. Our first contracts were entered with El Paso, Queiroz Galvão, ENI, Pride International and Transocean. We also submitted a tender for Petrobras in 2004 but without success. Nevertheless, we signed an temporary contract with Petrobras in early 2006 which was valid until a new long-term contract was to be entered. We participated in the tender round in 2006 for the tender for this contract and won. During this time the Maersk H2S Safety Services became a part of the Danbor Service Group. I took over the management of the local operations in January 2008 and since then I have been so lucky as to continue the job which Ramiro Nasser started: increase the number of clients and the substantial turnover. During these years, we have won tenders with various oil and gas companies such as ENI, Repsol and Petrobras. We have signed contracts with new clients but have also managed to keep and renew contracts with old clients. Today, our operation involves five local supervisors, one workshop man and six expats holding Brazilian work visas and who basically work for the operation every month. Due to the increase in our activities, we have established a local company named: MAERSK H2S SAFETY SERVICES BRASIL SERVIÇOS DE SEGURANÇA CONTRA GÁS SULFÍIDRICO LTDA. Such long name is explained by the demands from the local Board of Trade which only accepts a company s objectives in the company name if it is written in Portuguese. The new company may be the smallest one within the entire group (only for a while, though!) but it has the longest name Det mindste selskab med det længste navn Maersk H2S Safety Services operation i Brasilien begyndte i På det tidspunkt var det en afdeling i Maersk Contractors og operationen blev primært håndteret af to MISE-elever *. Vi har tegnet kontrakter med nye kunder, men det er også lykkedes os at beholde og forny kontrakter med gamle kunder. I dag involverer operationen fem lokale supervisorer, en værkstedsansat, seks udstationerede supervisorer, som alle har brasilianske arbejdstilladelser og som faktisk arbejder her hver måned. På grund af vores stigende aktivitet har vi etableret et selskab ved navn: MAERSK H2S SAFETY SERVICES BRASIL SERVIÇOS DE SEGURANÇA CONTRA GÁS SULFÍIDRICO LTDA. Det lange navn skyldes, at man i Brasilien ikke tillader en virksomheds serviceydelse i navnet, hvis det ikke er på portugisisk. 6 Customs Clearance is Tough Work, however, Whets your Appetite Ever since Danbor Service started its activities in Esbjerg in 1978, we have had a Customs Department at Kanalen 1 in Esbjerg. The main activity of the department then was to make sure that goods shipped to the North Sea were handled according to the regulations and laws in force at that time. Since, the Customs Department has become responsible for many new and varied tasks which today are handled by six dynamic persons. On 10 May, we met with Martin Ovesen and Preben Hansen to find out if customs clearance is as boring as we thought it was. But we were so wrong! These two persons, who have worked with customs clearance for many years had sparkling eyes when they enthusiastically told us about their daily tasks. Customs Clearance in Danbor Service In brief, we can inform that the six persons in the Customs Department each have their area of responsibilities but nonetheless are able to relieve each other in holiday periods and in periods with extra workload. It is a well-functioning department By Kristina L. Mouritsen and Helle Bentzen, Sales and Marketing Assistants characterized by a close cooperation between the dissimilar and dedicated persons. Their different backgrounds ensure a good sparring in their daily work. What one has not experienced, the other one has, Preben explains. Martin adds that it is not just with each other in the Customs Department and the colleagues from Danbor Service they spar, but also with their contacts in other shipping agencies and SKAT (the Danish Tax and Customs Administration). Every day the employees in the Customs Department deal with a number of various tasks. There are imports where documents such as T1, T2 and T5 need to be executed and clearance must be made, Martin informs and continues, likewise regarding exports, T1, T2 and T5 documents must be prepared together with export statements and certificates of origin. We also handle goods going offshore by supply boats. This involves the preparation of customs papers and export statements. Actually, there is only one regular task in the department and that is the registration of customs tariffs, weight and values of shipments to Intrastat at Statistics Denmark. Intrastat is statistics concerning inter-state trade within the EU. 24 Hours Services There is never a dull moment in this department, Preben tells with excitement. It is the new rigorous tariff regulations that demands quick performance. We have a duty phone so we can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Martin says, and it is necessary, if a supply boat is to leave the T1 documents document that customs duties and VAT of commodities are paid, or that the commodities are exported out of the EU. T2 documents document that the commodity has EU status. T5 documents document commodities with particularly intended use. Port of Esbjerg during the evenings or in the weekends, the paperwork has to be handled right away. This also goes for a component which is needed urgently offshore. The paperwork cannot wait until someone will be present during normal office hours. Customs Clearance Requires Expert Knowledge Martin and Preben are both trained shipping agents and have gained expert knowledge through many years of working with customs clearance within several trades. It is not enough to have worked with customs to perform a good job, you also need to be interested in customs clearance, Preben says firmly. It is often the challenges which give us the know-how and make it interesting, Martin adds. As a pit-bull terrier, stubborn and without giving up, he has challenged the governmental authorities and even the European Commission, when these authorities themselves have not been able to act according to the regulations governing customs tariffs. Even the governmental authorities find it difficult to understand the very complex regulations which are made by the EU, Preben says. Between 2200 and 2300 changes may occur in the regulations yearly, and it is very important to keep informed as some changes are retroactively. The changes induce extra work because we may have to examine old cases and perhaps rectify them to secure our clients, Martin adds. Luckily, both Martin and Preben are dedicated to their work, so to them it is a piece of cake to keep informed even though it is very time consuming. Many find customs clearance difficult to handle and they are right. A few years ago SKAT examined many custom clearance papers in Denmark. SKAT found errors in 75% of the cases they examined. Our Credibility, the Clients Security and Cash Balance The Customs Department always acts in the interests of the clients with whom, they in general have a fine and constructive dialogue. As Martin points out, the best way to service our clients is to ensure that they pay customs duties and VAT according to the regulations; no more, no less. Preben adds, We have established a reputation of performing correct clearances which facilitates the cooperation with customs authorities as we have gained confidence in our work. The Customs Department assists in obtaining the correct and relevant information from the suppliers of their clients. It is important that they get the correct information in order for them to ensure correct clearance the first time. This will save the client both time and money, as a re-handling is time consuming and expensive. In connection with an import from England, the department experienced that because a colleague double-checked the information from a supplier, who had given the wrong information about customs tariff numbers, they were able to ensure that the correct clearance papers were produced before the goods were sent, and in this way our colleague saved the company from paying 4.2% of the value of the goods being sent. There are companies who had to shut up shop due to incorrect clearance papers and had to pay a fine and a large readjustment of customs duties and VAT, Martin informs. According to the regulations, it is the company importing goods that are responsible for a correct clearance and not the shipping company handling the clearance. Being Alert is also Necessary Inside the Company The Customs Department is a subdivision to the Logistics Department in Danbor Service and is placed in the same office as the Forwarding Department and Agency. Both Martin and Preben believe this is a fine solution. In this way, we can guide our colleagues right away, if this is required Authorized Economic Operators (AEO) Companies that meet certain conditions and have undergone a procedure of approval with SKAT can achieve a status that gives access to certain benefits, primarily in relation to the security in connection with the transfer of goods. The benefits are, for example, supplying less information in connection with advanced notification and clearance, lower risk score in connection with risk analysis, and in the long run less customs procedures. (Source: SKAT s website) perhaps even straighten them up a bit, says Martin with a puckish smile. The characteristics of this department in Danbor Service are that they work hard; what they carry out is correct and always according to the regulations; they spar with each other and they often ask one another constructive questions; they keep abreast of things and are always alert; they never say no to an assignment unless it is a misdemeanor; quality and credibility are key words to the department. The employees in the department know that the future will bring along lots of work and they are always on the lookout for new clients and segments. We are working on being AEO approved, which will definitely ease our work, Martin informs at the end of our meeting. Told giver sved på panden og blod på tanden Siden 1978, hvor Danbor Service startede sine aktiviteter i Esbjerg, har der været en toldafdeling i huset på Kanalen 1 i Esbjerg. Dengang var toldafdelingens primære arbejde at sikre, at gods, der transporteres med forsyningsskibe til Nordsøen, blev ekspederet i henhold til daværende regler og lovkrav. Siden da er der kommet en del flere opgaver til og i dag håndterer seks dynamiske personer de mangeartede opgaver. Vi satte Martin Ovesen og Preben Hansen stævne den 10. maj for at undersøge, om 10 JUNE /

7 toldafdelingens arbejde er lige så kedeligt, som vi troede det var. Vi tog så grueligt fejl! Disse to personer, som gennem mange år har arbejdet med told, får nærmest lys i øjnene, når de med begejstrede stemmer fortæller om deres daglige opgaver. Told i Danbor Service Kort om afdelingen kan vi fortælle, at de seks personer har hvert deres ansvarsområde inden for told, men er i stand til at afløse og aflaste hinanden i ferieperioder og Fortoldningsdokumenter T1 dokument dokumenterer, at der bliver betalt told og moms af varen, eller at varen udføres af EU. T2 dokument dokumenterer, at varen har EU-status T5 dokument dokumenterer varer med specielle anvendelsesformål. perioder med spidsbelastning. Medarbejderne i toldafdelingen håndterer mange forskellige opgaver hver dag. Der er import, hvor der skal afsluttes dokumenter som T1-, T2- og T5-dokumenter samt laves fortoldninger, oplyser Martin, ligeledes i forbindelse med eksport skal der laves T1-, T2- og T5-dokumenter, udførselsangivelser og oprindelsescertifikater, og så er der ekspedition af forsyningsskibe, hvortil der laves toldpapirer og udførselsangivelser. Reelt er der kun en fast opgave i afdelingen og det er at registrere oplysninger til Intrastat hos Danmarks Statistik, så som toldtarifnumre, vægt, og værdier på forsendelser. Intrastat er en statistik over samhandel inden for EU. Altid på job Vi kan sagtens holde varmen og pulsen oppe her i afdelingen. fortæller Preben. Det er de nye skærpede regler for fortoldning, som gør, at det er nødvendigt altid at kunne handle og at kunne gøre det hurtigt. Vi har en vagttelefon, så vi kan kontaktes 24 timer i døgnet, 7 dage om ugen, siger Martin med begejstring, og det har vist sig at være nødvendigt, for hvis et forsyningsskib skal af sted om aftenen eller i løbet af weekenden, så skal papirarbejdet være på plads. Det gælder også, hvis en komponent skal hastetransporteres offshore, så kan papirarbejdet ikke vente til, der kommer nogen på kontoret til at håndtere det. Told kræver ekspertviden Både Martin og Preben er uddannet spe-ditører og har oparbejdet en ekspertviden gennem mange års arbejde med told indenfor forskellige brancher. Det er ikke nok at have arbejdet med told for at kunne udføre et godt arbejde. Man skal interessere sig for det, siger Preben bestemt. Det er tit udfordringerne, der skaber viden og interesse, udtaler Martin. Som en pitbull-terrier, stædig og uden at give op, har han udfordret det offentlige og sågar EU-kommissionen, når disse myndigheder ikke selv har handlet i henhold til reglerne om told. Selv de offentlige myndigheder kan have svært ved at finde rundt i den komplekse lovgivning, Autoriserede Økonomiske Operatører (AEO) Virksomheder, som opfylder en række betingelser og har gennemgået en procedure omkring godkendelse hos SKAT, vil kunne opnå en status, der giver adgang til visse fordele primært i forhold til sikkerhed i forbindelse med vareførslen. Fordelene er f.eks. afgivelse af færre informationer i forbindelse med forudanmeldelse og fortoldning, lavere risikoscore i forbindelse med risikoanalyse, samt på sigt adgang til visse lettelser i toldprocedurerne. Der kan være imellem ændringer i loven om året, og det er vigtigt at holde sig opdateret, da nogle ændringer er med tilbagevirkende kraft. Det giver ekstra arbejde, for så må vi undersøge gamle sager og rette op på dem for at sikre vores kunder, tilføjer Martin. Både Martin og Preben brænder heldigvis for told, så det er ingen sag for dem at holde sig opdateret, om end det tager megen tid. Told er svært, synes mange og de har ret. SKAT gennemførte for få år siden en undersøgelse af mange toldpapirer i Danmark. SKAT fandt fejl i mere end 75 % af de sager, de undersøgte. Vores troværdighed, kundens sikkerhed og pengebeholdning Toldafdelingen handler altid i kundens interesse og har generelt en god og konstruktiv dialog med kunden. Som Martin siger, vi servicerer vores kunder bedst ved at kunden betaler told og moms ifølge lovgivningen, hverken mere eller mindre. Preben tilføjer: Vi har fået ry for at udføre rigtig fortoldning, hvilket letter samarbejdet med toldmyndighederne, da der er skabt tillid til vores arbejde. Toldafdelingen hjælper med at skaffe korrekte oplysninger hos kundens leverandører. Det er vigtigt for toldafdelingen at få de rigtige oplysninger, for at sikre den korrekte fortoldning første gang. Det sparer kunden for både tid og penge, da en efterbehandling er tidskrævende og kostbar. I forbindelse med en import fra England har afdelingen oplevet, at fordi en kollega dobbelttjekkede oplysningerne fra en leverandør, hvor en toldkode var forkert, kunne de sikre, de rigtige toldpapirer blev lavet inden godset blev afsendt, og dermed spare virksomheden for at betale 4,2 % af godsets værdi. Der findes virksomheder, der har måttet dreje nøglen om, fordi toldpapirerne til deres varer ikke har været korrekte og virksomhederne derfor skulle betale en bøde samt en stor efterregulering af told og moms, oplyser Martin. Det er firmaet, der importerer varer, som har ansvaret for, at fortoldning er i henhold til lovgivningen og ikke speditionsfirmaet, der udfører fortoldningen. Notice Board Transfer of Activities to Maersk H2S Safety Services The activities of the Fire and Safety Department were transferred to Maersk H2S Safety Services 1 January The transfer happened in connection with the disposal of the activities related to onshore service of fire equipment. It was a strategic transfer in order to place more focus on the offshore market as well as to gather our safety related services in Maersk H2S Safety Services. 1. januar 2010 blev aktiviteterne i vores Fire and Safety -afdeling overført til Maersk H2S Safety Service. Overførslen skete i forbindelse med frasalget af vores aktiviteter vedrørende onshore service af brandmateriel. Dette strategiske valg blev truffet dels for bedre at kunne fokusere på offshoremarkedet men også for at samle vores sikkerhedsrelaterede ydelser i Maersk H2S Safety Services. In front of the office in Måde, Laila and Ingelise present the diploma. New Logo and Line for Maersk H2S Safety Services The A.P. Moller Maersk Group has introduced a new line for the Maersk name. Maersk H2S Safety Services have therefore implemented a new logo and line for stationeries and publications. The implementation will be a gradual change as old stationeries will be used up first. Det er en god løsning, mener både Martin og Preben. Så kan vi hjælpe og vejlede vores kollegaer med det samme, hvis der er brug for det måske endda afrette dem lidt, smiler Martin drilsk. Kendetegnet ved denne afdeling i Danbor Service er, at de kører hårdt på; dét de laver, er rigtigt og altid iht. reglerne; de bruger hinanden og stiller ofte hinanden relevante spørgsmål; de er på forkant og opmærksomme; de siger aldrig nej til en opgave, med mindre den involverer en lovovertrædelse; kvalitet og pålidelighed er vigtig for hele afdelingen. Medarbejderne i afdelingen ved, at fremtiden vil bringe masser af arbejde og de er hele tiden på udkig efter nye kundegrupper og segmenter. Vi arbejder på at blive AEO-godkendt, som bestemt vil lette vores arbejde, oplyser Martin afslutningsvis. Safety Diploma Offshore At the annual Safety Day for suppliers of Maersk Oil, Danbor Service was awarded a Safety Diploma for having past three years without work-related accidents, LTA s (Lost Time Accidents) offshore. Ved den årlige sikkerhedsdag for underleverandører til Maersk Oil blev Danbor Service tildelt et Safety Diplom for at have arbejdet offshore i tre år uden ulykker. A.P. Møller Maersk Gruppen har introduceret en ny linje for Maersk-navnet. Maersk H2S Safety Services har derfor implementeret et nyt logo og linje for kontorartikler og publikationer. 8 Anniversaries / Mærkedage News from Human Resources By Lars Schmidt, HR Manager Springtime has been all about collective bargaining. As Danbor Service is a member of DI, we have entered the main settlements reached between DI and the unions. This is primarily for HK, TL and the driver areas. Apart from the main settlements, we have four local settlements. These are agreements concerning the local working conditions between the company and the employee groups which are presented by the trade union representatives. The four local settlements concern offshore work in the North Sea, the production workshop in Måde, catering and not at least the work on the Base at Esbjerg Harbour. We have just terminated one local agreement based on the rates negotiated in connection with the main settlement and when reading these lines, we should have settled the additional local settlements. It is no secret that the negotiations have been fairly long and the expectations of our employees have been a bit higher than we could meet. But now the agreements have been entered and we can all be satisfied with a result where our competitiveness is maintained and we have complied with the demands of savings from A.P. Moller Maersk. In connection with our new assignments in Greenland, it is with pleasure we can state that a number of our employees from the office in Esbjerg has volunteered to go to Greenland to be part of the operation start-up team. We know from our Performance Appraisals that a number of our mainly younger employees would like to work abroad. This is now possible, both in Aberdeen and in Greenland and hopefully more opportunities will follow in the years to come. At the time of writing, the Danbor Service Group comprises 520 employees. This is a bit less than at the last headcount and is mainly due to parts of the Trucking Department being liquidated and also a decrease in our staff in our OCG Department. New employees: Since the last issue of the magazine, we have welcomed the following employees, Preben Thomsen who has been employed as H2S Supervisor, Jan Lars Christensen who has started as NDT Operator in our NDT Department, Albert who has joined our Stevedoring Department as Stevedore Foreman. So far on a temporary contract. Welcome to all our new employees; we look forward to a good cooperation with you. Resignations: Unfortunately, we have had to say goodbye to, Erich Christiansen, Trucking Department. Relocations: The Aberdeen Department has been transferred to Logistics, being directly responsible to Søren Hvorslev, Kristina Lykke Mouritsen has been transferred to the Commercial and Contracts Department, Christina Nørgaard Sørensen has been transferred from the Trucking Department to the Customs Department, Preben Hansen has been permanently employed in the Customs Department. Advancements: Roberto Rodarte, H2S, has been appointed Operations Manager for our activities in Brasil, Peter Skjærbæk, Safety Services, has been appointed Director, Søren Hvorslev, Logistics, has been appointed Senior General Manager, Peter Nielsen, Offshore Services, has been appointed Senior General Manager, Lars Schmidt, HR, has been appointed Senior General Manager. Personalenyt Foråret har stået i fornyelse af overenskomsternes tegn. Danbor Service har via vores medlemskab af DI tiltrådt de hovedoverenskomster, der er indgået mellem DI og fagforeningerne. Det gælder primært på HK-, chauffør- og TL-området. Udover hovedoverenskomsterne har vi fire lokale overenskomster. Det vil sige, at vi aftaler arbejdsforholdene lokalt mellem virksomheden og medarbejdergruppen, der er repræsenteret ved tillidsfolkene. Det drejer sig om offshorearbejdet på Nordsøen, produktionsværkstedet i Måde, cateringområdet og ikke mindst Basen på Esbjerg Havn. I skrivende stund har vi afsluttet en lokalaftale med udgangspunkt i de satser, der er aftalt på hovedoverenskomsten og når disse linjer læses, skulle vi gerne være i land med de øvrige lokalaftaler. Det er ingen hemmelighed, at forhandlingerne har trukket ud og medarbejdernes forventninger har været lidt større, end det vi kunne tilbyde. Nu er aftalerne imidlertid indgået, og vi kan alle glæde os over et resultat, som betyder, at vi bevarer vores konkurrencedygtighed på markedet, og at vi er nået i mål med de sparekrav som ledelsen i A.P. Møller Mærsk har opstillet. I forbindelse med vores nye opgaver i Grønland er det meget glædeligt at konstatere, at et antal af vores egne medarbejdere fra Esbjerg-kontoret har tilbudt at rejse til Grønland og være med til at starte operationen op. Vi ved fra vores medarbejdersamtaler Performance Appraisals, at en række af vores primært yngre medarbejdere gerne vil udenlands og prøve kræfter med opgaverne der. Det har vi heldigvis mulighed for at kunne tilbyde nu; dels i Aberdeen og dels i Grønland og forhåbentlig følger flere muligheder i årene fremover. I skrivende stund er vi 520 medarbejdere i Danbor Service Gruppen. Dette er nogle færre end ved sidste opgørelse og skyldes primært afviklingen af dele af vores vognmandsafdeling og mindre bemanding i vores OCG-afdeling.
