4 2. Intended use The SmartRadiator Controller is designed to control a standard heating appliance valve on a Radiator. The Product may only be operated indoors and must be protected from the effects of damp and dust, as well as solar radiation and sources of radiant heat. Using the Product for a purpose or in a manner other than that described in this operating manual constitutes a breach of the intended use and shall invalidate the warranty and any liability claims. The same shall apply in the event of modifi cation work. The Product is intended exclusively for domestic use. 3. Safety instructions The Product is not intended for children and must not be used as a toy. Do not leave packaging material lying around, as children might be tempted to play with it, which can be extremely dangerous. Do not open the Product: it does not contain any fi eld serviceable parts. In the event of a Product fault, please return the Product to our service department or local distributor. 4. Instructions for disposal Do not dispose of the Product in regular domestic waste. Electronic equipment must be disposed of at local collection points for waste electronic equipment in compliance with local directives governing waste electrical and electronic equipment. The CE sign is a free trade sign addressed exclusively to the authorities and does not warrant any properties. 4

5 5. General function This product is for radiators and supports digital control of room temperature and the scheduling of heating. The Product contains an actuator that moves a valve, thereby allowing the amount of heat fl owing to a Radiator to be controlled. The Product is compatible with all standard heating appliance valves. The large illuminated display ensures user-friendly operation.installation is completed in 3 easy steps. 6. (Step 1) Inserting (replacing) the batteries Remove the battery compartment cover. Insert 2 new LR6 batteries (Mignon/AA) into the battery compartment, ensuring they are inserted correctly. Reattach the battery compartment cover and click into place. New alkaline batteries have a life of approximately two years. A battery symbol ( ) will indicate when the batteries need to be replaced. After removing the old batteries, please wait approximately 1 minute before inserting the new ones. This device does not support operation with rechargeable batteries. Never recharge standard batteries. Doing so will present a risk of explosion. Do not throw the batteries into a fi re. Do not short-circuit batteries. Used batteries should not be disposed of with regular domestic waste. Instead, they should be taken to your local battery disposal point. 5

(Step 2) Setting the date and time of day The fi rmware version number will be displayed briefl y once you have inserted/replaced the batteries and then you will be automatically prompted to set the date and time of day. Use the setting wheel (C) to set the year (A). Confi rm with OK (D). B A Use the setting wheel (C) to set the month (A). Confi rm with OK (D). Use the setting wheel (C) to set the day (A). The motor will start moving back the control pin while the entries are still being made. If InS is displayed with a rotating symbol, this indicates that the motor is still moving back. Once the device is ready for the Product to be installed on the radiator valve, only InS will appear on the display. The time/date setting, the weekly program and other settings can be customised prior to installation. To do this, press the menu button when InS is shown on the display. For further details, please see 19. Confi guration menu. Once programming is complete, InS will reappear on the display and installation (Step 3) can commence.

7 8. (Step 3) Installing the SmartRadiator Controller The Product can be installed on all standard heating valves. There is no need to drain away water and no need for special tools to install the Product. First, remove the old thermostat: Turn the thermostat dial anticlockwise as far as it will go (A). Release the thermal ring of the thermostat (B)/remove the fastening screw. Remove the thermostat from the valve (C). If your radiator has a Danfoss valve (RA, RAV, RAVL) you need a valve adaptor, which is included. For details, please refer to the adapter overview and mounting instructions (see section 24). The adapter must be placed on the valve and turned until it is securely seated. In the case of the RAV adapter, the extension supplied must be attached to the valve tappet. The RA and RAV adapters must, in addition, be secured by means of the bolt and nut supplied. NOTE: The Product can only be installed if InS is showing on the display. Following installation, the actuator will perform an adjustment run so that it can adapt to the valve. During this process, AdA will be displayed. Mount the Product on the valve. 7

8 Tighten the union nut. InS will appear on the display, press the OK button. The actuator will perform a valve calibration run ( AdA will appear on the display, operation is not possible at this time). After this, the actuator will be ready for operation (Auto mode). If the adjustment run was initiated prior to installation, or if an error message will be displayed (F1, F2, F3); press OK to move the motor back to the InS position. The Product is now ready for use with its factory default setting. 9. Operating Modes The Product has 3 Operation Modes: Auto: Weekly program The temperature is controlled automatically in accordance with the stored weekly program. Manu: Manual operation The temperature is set manually using the setting wheel. Holiday function ( ): Set a temperature that is to be maintained until a fi xed point in time (see section 14). To switch between the 3 operating modes, press the menu button briefl y (these operating modes can only be selected after installation has been completed/step 1-3). 10. Display Content during Normal Operation During normal operation, the following are displayed: Day of the week, time of day, date, operating mode, temperature setting and switching periods. The bars indicating the weekly program s switching periods are shown for every other switching interval. For an example, please refer to 13. Weekly program: Examples. The display will illuminate when user interface is being operated 8

9 11. Comfort and Set-Back Temperatures The Comfort/Set-Back Temperature button ( ) provides an easy and convenient way of switching between these two temperatures. The factory settings are 21.0 C and 17.0 C respectively. To change them, proceed as follows: Press and hold down the Comfort/Set-Back Temperature button ( ) for more than 3 seconds. The Sun symbol ( ) will appear on the display along with the current Comfort Temperature. Use the setting wheel to modify the temperature; press OK to confi rm. The Moon symbol ( ) will appear together with the Set- Back Temperature. Use the setting wheel to modify the temperature; press OK to confi rm. The temperature can even be modifi ed in Auto Mode at any time by using this button. The new setting will be retained until the program s next switching time 12. Weekly Program: Examples The Product allows you to store up to 3 heating periods (7 switching times) with individual temperature settings for each day of the week. The factory setting consists of two heating phases (from 6:00 until 9:00 and from 17:00 until 23:00 respectively) for every single day of the week: From 00:00 to 06: C From 06:00 to 09: C From 09:00 to 17: C From 17:00 to 23: C From 23:00 to 23: C To represent the switching periods, the above fi gure shows bars in the 21 C intervals (e.g. 6:00 to 9:00). No bars are shown for the the 17 C intervals (e.g. 0:00 to 6:00). 9

10 If a room also needs to be heated at around noon, the corresponding program might be as follows: Monday to Sunday From 00:00 to 06: C From 06:00 to 09: C From 09:00 to 12: C From 12:00 to 14: C From 14:00 to 17: C From 17:30 to 23: C From 23:30 to 23: C If you have a home offi ce and only want it to be heated during the day on working days, you can program the following times: Monday to Friday From 00:00 to 08:30 From 08:30 to 17:00 From 17:00 to 23:59 Saturday and Sunday From 00:00 to 23: C 21.0 C 17.0 C 15.0 C 13. Setting the Weekly Program The weekly program allows you to set up to 3 separate heating periods (7 switching times) for each day of the week. Programming is performed in relation to the selected days, for which temperatures must be stored for a period from 00:00 to 23:59. Press and hold down the Menu button for more than 3 seconds. Pro will appear on the display. Confi rm with OK. Day will appear on the display. Use the setting wheel to select (1) an individual day of the week, (2) all working days, the weekend or (3) the entire week (example shows working days selected). 10

11 Confi rm with OK. Use the setting wheel to set the first time segment (example shows 0:00 to 6:00). Confi rm with OK. Then, select the required temperature for the selected time segment (example shows 17.0 C). Confi rm with OK. Keep repeating this process until you have fi nished storing temperatures for the period from 0:00 to 23:59. In Auto mode, the temperature can be modifi ed at any time via the setting wheel. The modifi ed temperature will then be retained until the next program changeover. 14. Setting the Holiday Function If you want a fi xed temperature to be maintained for a period of time. For example while you are on holiday, you can make use of the Holiday function. Press and release the Menu button repeatedly until the suitcase symbol ( ) appears on the display. Use the setting wheel to set the end of the time period during which the temperature is to be maintained. Press the OK button to confi rm. Then use the setting wheel to set the date. Press the OK button to confi rm. Use the setting wheel to set the temperature; press OK to confi rm. The display will fl ash to confi rm your settings. The set temperature will remain in force until the specifi ed time. After that, the actuator will return to Auto mode. 11

12 15. Window Open Function If the room is being ventilated, the Product will automatically reduce the temperature to save on heating costs. While this function is active, the window open symbol ( ) appears on the display. You can set your own window open temperature and time: Press and hold down the menu button for more than 3 seconds. Use the setting wheel to select the AEr menu item. Confi rm with OK. Use the setting wheel to set the temperature/time. Then press OK to confi rm. This function can be deactivated by selecting a time of Child-Proof Lock/Operating Inhibit Operation can be inhibited. To activate/deactivate the operating inhibit, briefl y press the Menu and buttons at the same time. Once the function is active, LOC will appear on the display. To deactivate the function, press both buttons again. 17. Heating Break Function If the heating is being switched off for the summer, you can save battery power. This involves opening the valve up fully. Limescale protection measures remain in place. To activate the heating break, turn the setting wheel clockwise during manual operation (Manu) until On appears on the display. To terminate the heating break, quit manual operation (Manu) or turn the setting wheel anticlockwise. 12

13 18. Frost Protection Mode If you do not want the room to be heated, the valve can be closed. It will only be opened again if there is a risk of freezing due to frost. Limescale protection measures remain in place. To activate frost protection mode, turn the setting wheel anticlockwise during Manual Operation Mode (Manu) until OFF appears on the display. To exit Frost Protection Mode, quit manual operation (Manu) or turn the setting wheel clockwise 19. Configuration Menu The Configuration menu can be used to modify settings.to access this menu, press and hold down the menu button (for more than 3 seconds). Pro: For setting the weekly program (see Section 9 Setting the weekly program ) dat: For modifying the time of day and date POS: For querying the actuator s current position dst: Automatic switchover at the start or end of daylight saving time can be deactivated. AEr: For setting the window open temperature and time so that the temperature is automatically reduced in the event of ventilation tof: For setting the offset temperature res: For restoring the factory settings Use the setting wheel to select menu items and the OK button to confirm your choice. Press the Menu button again to return to the previous level. If none of the buttons are used the product will automatically exit Configuration menu after 65 seconds. 13

14 20. Temperature Offset The temperature is measured at the heating appliance itself, with the result that other parts of the room may be warmer or colder. To compensate for this, you can set a temperature offset of up to ±3.5 C. If, for example, a temperature of 18 C is measured somewhere within the room instead of the 20 C set, it means that an offset of -2.0 C needs to be confi gured. Press and hold down the Menu button for more than 3 seconds. Use the setting wheel to select the tof menu item. Confi rm with OK. Use the setting wheel to modify the temperature. Press the OK button to confi rm. 21. Restoring the Factory Settings You can reset the actuator to its initial state manually. This will clear all the settings that have been made manually. Press and hold down the Menu button for more than 3 seconds. Use the setting wheel to select the res menu item. Confi rm with OK. ACC will appear on the display; press OK to confi rm. 22. Automatic Valve Calcification At 12:00 every Saturday, the actuator performs a weekly descaling function to prevent valve calcifi cation. CAL will appear on the display. 14

20 20 2. Anvendelse SmartRadiator Kontrolleren er designet til at tilføre intelligent styring af standard radiator ventiler. Produkter må kun bruges indendørs og skal beskyttes mod damp, støv, direkte sol samt varme fra andre varme enheder. Bruges produktet til andre applikationer eller på anden måde end beskrevet i denne manual vil garantien bortfalde. Det samme er gældende i tilfælde af konvertering eller ændring af produktet. 3. Sikkerhedsinstruktioner Produktet er ikke beregnet til børn og må ikke bruges som legetøj. Efterlad ikke indpakningsmateriale, da dette indeholder smådele, som børn kan være fristet til at lege med det. Åben ikke produktet: det indeholder ikke nogle dele, som skal serviceres af brugeren. 21 5. Generelle Funktioner Denne SmartRadiator Kontroller kan bruges til automatisk temperaturkontrol af en radiator. En aktuator bevæger radiatorens ventil, hvorved varmvandstilførelsen styres. Smart- Radiator Kontrolleren kan anvendes på alle standard radiator ventiler. Det store baggrundsbelyst display giver en brugervenlig anvendelse/indstilling. Installationen af produktet kan gøres i 3 trin. 6. (Trin 1) Indsæt/Udskift Batterier Fjern batteridækslet. Indsæt to nye LR6 batterier (Mignon/AA), vær sikker på at batterierne er korrekt sat i. Genmonter batteridækslet. Nye alkaline batterier har en levetid på cirka 3 år. Et batteri symbol ( ) vil indikere, når batterierne skal udskiftes. Efter at have fjernet de gamle batterier vent venligst ca. 1 minut før de nye indsættes. Dette produkter kan ikke anvende genopladelige batterier. 21

22 22 7. (Trin 2) Indstilling af Dato og Klokkeslæt Software revision i produkter vises kort i displayet, når batterierne monteres, og de vil automatisk blive bedt om at indstille dato og klokkeslæt. Brug indstillingshjulet (C) til indstilling af årstal (A). B A Bekræft med OK (D). Brug indstillingshjulet (C) til indstilling af måned (A). Bekræft med OK (D). Brug indstillingshjulet (C) til indstilling af ugedag (A). Bekræft med OK (D). Brug indstillingshjulet (C) til indstilling af time (B). Bekræft med OK (D). Brug indstillingshjulet (C) til at indstille C D minutter (B). Bekræft med OK (D). Motoren vil starte for at køre aktuatoren tilbage, mens dato/ klokkeslæt indstillingerne foretages. Hvis InS vises i displayet med et roterende symbol, indikerer dette, at motoren er i bevægelse. Når SmartRadiator Kontrolleren er klar til at blive monteret på radiatorventilen, vil kun InS vises i display. Tid/dato indstilling, Ugeprogram og andre bruger indstillinger kan udføres, inden produktet monteres på radiator ventilen. For at gøre dette tryk Menu knappen når InS vises i displayet. For yderligere information se afsnit 19 Konfi gurationsmenu. Når indstillingerne afsluttes, vil InS atter vises i displayet og installationens trin 3 udføres.

23 8. (Trin 3) Montering af SmartRadiator Kontrolleren SmartRadiator Kontrolleren kan monteres på alle standard radiator ventiler. Produktet kan monteres uden specialværktøj og behøver ikke dræning af vand i rørsystemet forinden. Først skal De fjerne den gamle termostat: Drej termostaten op på maks. - mod urets retning (A). Skru monteringsringen af (B)/løs montageskruen. Fjern termostaten fra ventilen (C). Hvis De har en radiator med Danfoss ventil (RA, RAV, RAVL), skal De bruge en ventil adapter til montering af Radiator Kontrolleren. Adaptorene er inkluderet. For fl ere detaljer om adapter typer og monteringsvejledning se afsnit 24 Adapter Oversigt). Monter først adapteren: Adapteren skal monteres først og fæstnes sikker på radiator ventilen. Ved en RAV adapter, skal forlængelsespalen monteres på ventilen. n. Ved RA and RAV adapteren skal disse monteres med en skrue og møtrik. SmartRadiator Kontrolleren kan KUN monters, når teksten InS vises i displayet. Efter montering af SmartRadiator Kontrolleren, skal der udføres en automatisk ventil kalibrering for at sikre korrekt og optimal styring af radiator ventilen. Under kalibreringsprocessen vises teksten AdA i displayet. 23

24 Monter SmartRadiator Kontrolleren på ventilen/adapteren. Fæsten monteringsringen sikkert. InS vises i display, tryk OK knappen. SmartRadiator Kontrolleren udfører nu ventil kalibreringen ( AdA vises nu i display, Kontrolleren kan betjenes, mens kalibreringen udføres). Efter kalibreringen er SmartRadiator Kontrolleren klar til brug (Auto indstilling). Hvis kalibreringen fejlagtigt blev udført inden montering på ventilen, eller hvis en fejl besked vises i displayet (F1, F2, F3); tryk OK for at køre motoren tilbage til InS position. SmartRadiator Kontrolleren er nu klar til brug (med fabriksindstillinger). 9. Brugsindstillinger SmartRadiator Kontrolleren har 3 brugsindstillinger: Auto: Ugeprogram Temperaturen styres automatisk i henhold til det gemte ugeprogram. Manu: Manuel styring Temperaturen sættes manuelt ved brug af indstillinghjulet. Ferie funktion ( ): Indstilling af en bestemt temperatur, som bibeholdes til en forvalgt dato og klokkeslæt (se afsnit 14). For at skifte mellem de tre brugsindstillinger tryk Menu (Brugsindstillingerne kan kun vælges efter installation af SmartRadiator Kontrolleren (Trin 1-3). 10. Display Ved normal brugsindstilling vises følgende i displayet: Ugedag, klokkeslæt, dato, brugerindstilling, temperatur indstiling og varmeperioder. Bjælkerne viser Ugeprogrammets varme- 24

25 perioder, og viser hver anden periode. For eksempler se afsnit 12. Ugeprogram: Eksempler. Displayet vil oplyse, når knapperne eller indstillingshjulet betjenes. 11. Komfort og Sænknings Temperaturer Med Komfort/Sænknings temperatur knappen ( ) kan der nemt skiftes mellem Komfort temperatur og Sænkings temperatur. Fabriksindstillingen er 21.0 C (Komfort) og 17.0 C (Sænkning). For at ændre de to temperaturer gør følgende: Tryk og hold Komfort/Sænknings temperatur knappen inde i ( ) i 3 sekunder. Sol-symbolet ( ) vises i displayet med den nuværende Komfort Temperatur. Ændre temperaturen med indstillingshjulet; tryk OK for at bekræfte. Måne-symbolet ( ) vises i displayet med den nuværende Sænknings Temperatur. Ændre temperaturen med indstillingshjulet; tryk OK for at bekræfte. Temperaturen kan også ændres til Komfort eller Sænknings temperatur i Auto brugsindstilling ved at bruge knappen. Komfort/Sænknings temperaturen vil forblive ind til næste ugeprogram skift. 12. Ugeprogram: Eksempler Med SmartRadiator Kontrolleren kan De indstille op til 3 varmeperioder (7 temperaturskift tidspunkter) med individuel temperaturindstillinger for hver ugedag. Fabriksindstillingen består af to Komfort varmeperioder (fra 6:00 til 9:00 og fra 17:00 til 23:00) i alle ugens dage: Fra 00:00 til 06: C Fra 06:00 til 09: C Fra 09:00 til 17: C Fra 17:00 til 23: C Fra 23:00 til 23: C 25

Indstilling at Ferie Funktion Hvis de ønsker at fastholde en temperatur i en specifik periode, for eksempel mens de er på ferie, kan De benytte Ferie funktionen. Tryk Menu knappen gentagende gange indtil kuffert symbolet ( ) vises i displayet. Brug indstillingshjulet til at indstille klokkeslæt for ophør af Ferie funktionen. Bekræft ved tryk på OK knappen. Brug indstillingshjulet at indstille datoen for ophør af Ferie funktionen. Bekræft ved tryk på OK knappen. 28 15. Vindue Åbent Funktion Hvis rummet udluftes, vil SmartRadiator Kontrolleren automatisk registrere et temperaturfald i rummet og automatisk sænke radiator temperaturen for at spare energi. Når denne funktion er, aktiv vil vindue åbent symbolet ( ) vises i displayet. Som fabriksindstilling vil radiator temperaturen reduceres i en periode på 15 minutter. De kan selv indstille vindue åben temperaturen og periode. Tryk og hold Menu knappen inde i 3 sekunder. Brug indstillingshjulet til at vælge AEr menu punktet. Bekræft ved tryk på OK knappen. Brug indstillingshjulet til at indstille temperatur/tid. Bekræft ved tryk på OK knappen. Denne funktion kan deaktiveres ved at vælge tiden Børnesikring/Indstillingslås Knapperne og indstillingshjulet kan låses. For at aktivere/deaktiver Børnesikringen/Indstillingslåsen, tryk kort Menu og knappen samtidig. Når Børnesikringen/Indstillingslåsen er aktiv, vises LOC i displayet. For at deaktivere Børnesikringen/Indstillingslåsen, tryk de samme to knapper igen. 17. Indstilling af Varmepause Funktion Slukkes der for varmen om sommeren, kan De med fordel aktivere Varmepause funktionen for at spare batteri. Ved aktivering af funktionen vil radiator ventilen åbnes helt. Tilkalkningsbeskyttelsen vil forblive aktiv (afsnit 22). Mens produktet er i Manuel brugsindstilling (Manu) kan Varmepause funktionen aktiveres ved at drej indstillingshjulet 28

Indstilling af Frostbeskyttelses Funktion Hvis De ønsker ikke at opvarme rummet, kan radiatorventilen lukkes helt. Ventilen vil kun åbnes, hvis der er risiko for tilfrysning pga. frost. Tilkalkningsbeskyttelsen vil forblive aktiv. For at aktivere Frostbeskyttelses funktionen, drej indstillingshjulet i urets retning i Manuel brugsindstilling (Manu) indtil OFF vises i displayet. For at deaktivere Frostbeskyttelses funktionen, drej indstillingshjulet mod urets retning. 19. Konfigurationsmenu Konfigurationsmenuen kan bruges til at ændre forskellige indstillinger. For at aktivere Konfigurationsmenuen tryk Menu knappen i 3 sekunder, og følgende menupunkter kan vælges: Pro: Indstilling af Ugeprogram (se afsnit 13 Indstilling af Ugeprogram ) dat: Ændring af klokkeslæt og dato POS: Vising af ventil position dst: Automatisk sommer/vintertid skift kan deaktivers. 30 20. Indstilling af Offset Temperatur Grundet af at temperaturen måles ved radiatoren, kan temperaturen andre steder i rummet være koldere eller varmere end ved radiatoren. For at kompensere for dette, kan produktet indstilles til at have en offset temperatur på op til ±3.5 C. Hvis for eksempel temperaturen er indstillet til 20 C, men der måles en temperatur på 18 C andet steds i rummet, betyder det, at man bør indstille en offset temperatur på -2.0 C. Offset temperaturen indstilles på følgende måde: Tryk Menu knappen i 3 sekunder. Brug indstillingshjulet til at vælge tof menupunktet. Bekræft med tryk på OK knappen. Brug indstillingshjulet til at ændre temperaturen. Bekræft med tryk på OK knappen. 21. Genetablering af Fabriksindstillinger Fabriksindstillingerne kan genetableres, hvorved alle indstillinger, som er manuelt programmeret, vil blive sletter. Tryk Menu knappen inde i 3 sekunder. Brug indstillingshjulet til at vælge res menupunktet. Bekræft med tryk på OK knappen. ACC vil vises i displayet; tryk OK knappen. 22. Tilkalkningsbeskyttelse af Ventil SmartRadiator Kontrolleren sørger automatisk for bevægelse af ventil, for at forhindre tilkalkning af radiator ventilen. Kl. 12:00 hver lørdag udføres en de-skalering (ventil bevæges til maks. og min. position). Når de-skalering udføres, vil CAL vises i displayet. 30
