9 Phase 2 of the mandate Following mandate M 400 of the Commission, CEN/TC 234 had to finalise a new version of the pren 16726, Gas infrastructure Gas quality Group H

10 EN SCOPE This European standard specifies gas quality characteristics, parameters and their limits, for gases classified as group H, as in EN 437:2003+A1:2009. This standard does not cover gases conveyed on isolated networks or gases prior to their entry in a transmission network in Europe. This European standard is applicable to gases that are to be transmitted, stored, distributed and used.

13 What should be the harmonised range of variations? As narrow as possible? As wide as possible? Should appliances be able to cope with a wide band or should the band be narrow?

14 Why harmonisation of natural gas specification? (other benefits) A key element for the development of new RE gases will be their ability to be injected in the grid. Specifications of natural gas should be as wide as possible to allow the new gases to be injected (without impacting safety and performances of utilisations) The specifications should be harmonised at EU level, because gas market (gas & appliances) is European: Stronger interoperability of systems in the EU Market of appliances: removing country specific certification

17 MÅLSÆTNINGER Via vores engagement at få bragt viden fra den danske gasbranche i spil og få bidraget til at det endelige resultat bliver anvendeligt og værdifuldt for os. 21 Main result so far = Wobbe scenarios = central work for the evaluation

22 DK Preliminary conclusion: 2 should be OK for DK, 1 is too wide (see GASQUAL), 3, 4, 5 lack ambition. Winner could be 2, 3 or 4? Adjustment of the precise numbers will most likely occur. 3 prevents Danish North Sea production and 4 could prevent biomethane development.

23 What is the impact of each of the Wobbe scenarios on the whole gas value chain? = utilisation, transportation, storage etc. The goal is To have a final report on the scenario assessment by the end of 2018

26 BIDRAG TIL PROCESSEN FRA DK Vi har bidraget via Marcogaz omkring apparaters følsomhed. Viden er resultat er DK erfaringer, tidligere undersøgelser og arbejdet i Future Gas projektet ( Vi har bidraget til svar fra ENTSOG. ENTSOG konstatere at de snævre scenarier potentielt vil udelukke store mængder af den Europæiske forsyning eller stille krav om gasbehandling. Dette gælder også dansk nordsøproduktion især ved scenarierne 3 og 5. 26

29 AFRUNDING Wobbe indeks er den vigtigste parameter for gaskvalitet. Sikker anvendelse af gas, forsyningssikkerhed mv. afhænger af krav til wobbe indeks. For Wobbe indeks så kører toget nu. Vi er med, men vi skal fortsatte med at bidrage; da DK har særlig viden og interesser. Webinar afholdt af for DK branche 8/ Ca. 20 deltagere. Materialet kan findes via DGC s hjemmeside. Der blev afholdt arbejdsmøde online 30/4 2018, hvor DK svar til assessment af scenarier blev konsolideret og sendt. Desuden har DS anmodet CEN SFGas pre normative WG GQS om at lave en parallelt arbejde om krav til ilt i gassen. Der er i dag krav til ilt i EN DS skal forventeligt sekretariat for arbejdet, når/hvis det startes op. 29
