5 GETTING STARTED 1 1. AUTOCAD P&ID AutoCAD P&ID is an Autodesk programme for designing P&ID diagrams. The programme is based on AutoCAD, but the AutoCAD ribbons are not available, as they are not to be used. Relevant commands from the Rambøll Tool Palette and some basic AutoCAD commands are available in the AutoCAD P&ID Rambøll Tool Palette in the tab "Redigering" 2. LAUNCHING AUTOCAD P&ID After installation of AutoCAD P&ID from the Rambøll CAD programme installation site, AutoCAD P&ID is launched from the shortcut on the desktop or from the Start menu, All Programs, RAMBØLL CAD, AutoCAD P&ID2011 Rambøll

6 GETTING STARTED Welcome and welcome back screens The Welcome Screen and Welcome Back screens provide shortcuts to creating projects and opening recent projects and drawings. The Welcome and Welcome Back screens display during startup and whenever all drawings are closed. The Welcome Screen includes the following sections: Get Started with a Sample Project. Includes a link to the sample project provided with AutoCAD P&ID. Get Started with Your Own Files. Displays tools to help you navigate to the project files and drawings. It also includes tools to display Project Manager, open a drawing file, and create a new project. The Welcome Back Screen includes the following sections: Most Recent File. Includes a link to project and drawing files that you worked with in your previous session. Other Recent Projects/Files. Displays links for recently opened project files and drawings. It also includes tools to display Project Manager, open a drawing file, and create a new project.

7 GETTING STARTED Quick Access Toolbar The quick access toolbar in the top left corner, is an easy way to open drawings not located in the recent file list. Also creating a new (non-project) drawing is easily done. The recover function is also available in the quick access toolbar. 2.2 Interactive help The help options in the top right corner are interactive as they are connected to the internet. 3. PROJECT MANAGER The Project Manager assembles and manages drawings belonging to a project and provides an organized project environment in which to work. The Project Manager is placed floating on the left side of the welcome screen in the Rambøll installation of AutoCAD P&ID.

8 GETTING STARTED 4 From the Project Manager you can open, add, and create drawings and perform other tasks such as exporting and importing data and creating project reports. 3.1 The Project Manager functions Current Project Displays the name of the current project. By default, the last project you opened is displayed. The first time you open the Project Manager, a default project is displayed. The Project Name list also allows you, to start a new project, load an existing project or select a project you have worked on earlier. Publish button Displays the Publish dialog box. For printing and pdf creation according to Rambøll standard, see the description on Print later in this document. Reports button Displays a list of reports that you can run, including custom reports. Data Manager. Displays the Data Manager. Export Data. Displays the Export Report Data dialog box. Import Data. Opens the Import From dialog box. Reports. Opens the Data Manager in Project Reports mode. Project Panel Sets the overall organization for the drawings in the project. You can add, remove, and reorder drawings and folders. You can also select drawings or folders to include their data in reports.

9 GETTING STARTED 5 New Drawing. Displays the New DWG dialog box, where you can create a new drawing based on the default template and add it to the project tree. Link to Drawing. Opens the Select Drawing dialog box, where you can select one or more files to link to the project. Copy Drawing to Project. Opens the Select Drawing dialog box, where you can select one or more files to copy to the project. Drawings copied from another project can not be renamed. The best way to copy the content of a drawing, is to create a new drawing, using the required drawing as a template. Refresh DWG Status. Verifies whether any of the drawings or files in the project are being edited by another user. Project Node. Represents the top-level organizational unit in the project tree hierarchy. P&ID Drawings Node. Represents a default grouping for P&ID drawings that cannot be removed. You can add nested folders within this folder. Plant 3D Drawings Node. Represents a default grouping for Plant 3D drawings that cannot be removed. You can add nested folders within this folder. Related Files Node. Represents a default grouping for Related Files that cannot be removed. Also represents folders that you can create under any default grouping. Drawing Node. Represents a drawing in the project. Locked Drawing Node. Represents a drawing that is currently being edited. Missing Drawing Node. Represents a drawing that has been moved or removed. Referenced Drawing (Xref) Node. Represents a drawing that is referenced by the project but does not belong to the project. Project Referenced Drawing (Xref) Node. Represents a drawing that is referenced by and belongs to the project. Details Panel Provides information about the project or about drawings selected in the Project Manager tree area. To change the display, click the corresponding button on the Details panel toolbar. Details Displays information about the selected node. Project details. Displays project information, including project location, name, description, unit type, and number. Drawing details. Displays the drawing status, description, file name, location, file size, and the save and edit dates. Preview When a drawing node is selected, displays a small preview of the drawing. Work History (Source Files tab only) When a drawing is selected, displays all work history entries for the drawing. Times and dates use the current Windows system settings. Date Modified. Displays the date and time of the edits associated with the most recent work history entry. User. Displays the login name of the person who opened the drawing for editing. Status. Displays the status of the drawing. Status is not being used in Rambøll.

Displays orthographic drawings that have been created for a project. Project Manager Isometric DWG Tab. Displays isometric drawings that have been created for a project. 4. OPEN A PROJECT When you select the "Open Project" option, a standard Microsoft Windows dialog appears which you can use to browse to a project folder and open the file named project.xml. After the project loads, The Project Manager shows you the structure and drawings available in the loaded project. By double clicking a drawing, it can be opened for modification. 4.1 The Project file Each project has a file named Project.xml which contains the project setup and is the central file for the project. Each project consists of several files and folders as shown below. It is advisable to locate these files and folders in the same location on all projects.

11 GETTING STARTED 7 5. STARTING A NEW PROJECT Select the "New Project" option from the drop down list box in the Project Manager. AutoCAD P&ID will show the wizard dialog needed for project creation. It is important to fill in the first screen of the project creation wizard correct. Each item is therefore described in detail below. 1. Enter a name of this project. The project name is preferred by VVS department. 2. Enter an optional description. 3. Specify the directory where program-generated files are located. Specify where the project is to be stored. The preferred folder structure for the VVS department is: Project etc. \CAD\VVS\P&I Diagrammer During creation of the project, AutoCAD P&ID will create a subfolder with the name of the project, in this case: TestProject. This folder will contain the AutoCAD P&ID project.xml file, settings and configuration files. The subfolder PID DWG, where the P&ID diagrams for the project is saved is also created automatically.

12 GETTING STARTED 8 4. Specify the directory where supporting files. This section is filled in automatically based on the input in item 3. Do not change this! 5. Copy settings from existing project. Tick this box and select the project.xml file from: C:\Users\Public\AutoCAD P&ID 2011\Ramboll_PNID_template\Project.xml This specific project.xml file contains the Ramboll template setup and must be used as a template for new projects. It is due to technical issues, that the file is located on your hard disk, instead of on the W- drive.

15 GETTING STARTED 11 The project is now available in the Project Manager with the folder P&ID Drawings, where the project P&ID diagram drawing must be located. 6. STRUCTURING THE PROJECT, FOLDERS AND FILES All P&I Diagrams for the project must be created and saved in the folder P&ID Drawings. If required subfolders can be created. The subfolders could be arranged according to sfb codes. 6.1 New Folder To create a new folder, right click on the folder P&ID Drawings, select "New Folder". 1. Folder name. Specify the name of the subfolder.

16 GETTING STARTED Create folders relative to parent folder storage location. Subfolders can either be created with absolute or relative path. In Rambøll you should always use relative path. 3. Store new project DWG files in. When relative path is selected above, the path for storing new project DWG files is set automatically. 4. DWG creation template for folder. To set a specific template for each folder, clear the "Prompt For Template" check box. Under "DWG Creation Template for Folder", browse for standard template. This procedure is recommended for Rambøll projects. To prompt for a template for each new drawing, select the "Prompt for Template" check box. Use this option if you use different project templates for different projects. 6.2 Renaming and removing folders To remove a folder, right click the folder and select the option "Remove Folder". Note that it is only possible to remove folders that do not contain any drawings or subfolders. If the folder is not empty, AutoCAD P&ID will not remove the folder from the Project Manager. To rename a folder, right click the folder and select "Rename folder". Renaming folders can be done even if the folder contains subfolders or drawings. Removing or renaming folders only changes the name in the Project Manager view. If you want the physical folder on the disk to be removed or renamed, it must be done manually using Windows Explore, and then update the properties of the folder in Project Manager to locate the renamed windows folder.

17 GETTING STARTED Adding or copying existing drawings to the project To be able to modify a drawing from another project, the drawing can either be linked to the project or copied to the project. "Link to Drawing" and "Copy Drawing to Project" buttons An existing drawing can be added to the project by selecting the folder to place it in, right click and select "Link to Drawing" or by selecting the "Link to Drawing" button (see previous description), you can select the drawing that you want to link with the project. The selected drawing will remain at its current location but will be added to the Project Manager view, so that it can be used and modified. Note that a drawing cannot be part of two different projects simultaneously, and it cannot be copied within the same project. A drawing must first be copied and renamed before it can be added to another project. The second option is "Copy Drawing to project", which actually makes a physical copy of the file and places it in the P&ID DWG folder. After copying the drawing, the original and the copy are not linked together, so the drawings can be part of any project. 6.4 Create new drawing To create a new drawing select the "New Drawing" option either by right clicking the folder to place the drawing in, or the "New Drawing" button. Insert a file name for the drawing. The author is automatically stated. The drawing will be created in the folder in which the "New Drawing" was activated. The Template

18 GETTING STARTED THE DWG TEMPLATE The DWG template "PID_ISO_stb.dwt" is the template for all P&ID diagrams. The template is set up according to Rambøll standard and requirements. Some of the most important settings are listed below: Text height=2,5 Osnap=off Grid=10 Grid snap=2,5 Otrack=off The grid and grid snap is set as mentioned in order to comply with the symbol size for the standard project (5 and 10mm). It should be possible to use grid snap for all snap operations.

19 GETTING STARTED AUTOCAD P&ID USER INTERFACE AND WORKSPACE The user interface contains: Project Manager. The project Manager is a tool for managing the project settings and drawing structure for each project. Ribbon. This ribbon contain regular AutoCAD commands. AutoCAD P&ID ribbons. This ribbon contains the specific AutoCAD P&ID commands. Command prompt. Tool Palettes. The tool palettes are a very important item for using AutoCAD P&ID. All Lines (pipes and ducts), equipment and etc. must be inserted in the drawing from the tool palettes to ensure it is intelligent AutoCAD P&ID objects. In special cases a line can be prepared as an AutoCAD line, and AutoCAD P&ID Ribbon Ribbon Project Manager Tool Palette Command Prompt Workspace Ensure The Ramboll_PNID workspace is selected.

20 GETTING STARTED DESIGN A P&ID DRAWING WORKFLOW Using AutoCAD P&ID, you can easily create dynamic schematic drawings. AutoCAD P&ID provides numerous components and lines that you can place in your drawings. Each component contains data that links to the Data Manager, where you can view data reports, export them to Excel or a comma separated values (CSV) file, and import them back into the program. The sequence of generating a P&ID normally is: Placing major equipment like pumps, compressors, heat exchanger, tanks and vessels Connecting Primary and Secondary process lines Placing inline assets like valves, reducers and other pipe fittings Instrumentation, Inline and general symbols Add Tag and Annotation to objects if not added after insertion Non-engineering components like off page connectors Validate the drawing data. Make sure all lines and components contain P&ID data 10. PLACING EQUIPMENT Equipment is placed using the Tool Palette. To manage the layout of the diagram, it can be a good idea to start by placing and scaling the large equipment. Tags can be added to the equipment now or later in the process. 11. TAG AND ANNOTATION You can tag components and lines to identify them as unique items in a project. Standard tag and annotation formats have been set up for Rambøll projects according to the Danish classification system. Currently the classification system is called DBK but soon it will change to be called CCS and some numbers will be replaced by letters. Currently a DBK numbering format is used (note that changes have been made from the standard) but the system can easily be changed, when the final CCS system is released. Definition of a Tag A tag is data (properties) on a component and never appears on a drawing. A tag is a unique identifier for a component or line segment. A tag format is a selection of properties describing a component or line. Tag formats are assigned to components and lines. During quantity takeoff, it is the data from the tag (and other properties) that is used to define the quantities. Definition of Annotation Annotation is text placed in a drawing to describe a component or line. It displays the properties or tag data of a component or line. Annotation formats displays the tag format for a component or line. How to use Tag and Annotation When a component is inserted in the diagram, right click and select Assign Tag. Right click again and select Annotate. Alternatively tag and annotate in the same operation, by marking "Place annotation after assigning tag" during Assign Tag and select the correct annotation format in the Assign Tag menu.

21 GETTING STARTED Standard Tag format The Rambøll Standard Tag format for components is: Fields in the Assign Tag menu: Tag: Note relevant, but displays the sum of tag properties. Pipe Line Group. CCS System Class: E.g. 325 for ventilation systems select from drop down menu Pipe Line Group. CCS System Number: Type system number - e.g. ventilation system 1 = 01 CCS Subsystem 1: Type subsystem (unit) class and number if relevant e.g. ventilation unit 1 = 0301 CCS Subsystem 2: If relevant, type lower subsystem class, similar to Subsystem 1. CCS Component Class: The Component Class is predefined for most component and should not be changed. For custom component type a component class, e.g. 009 for a fan. CCS Component Number: Type Component Number - e.g. ventilation fan 1 = 01 CCS Component Type: If relevant, indicate the type of a specific component e.g. fan type 2 = 02. Component Type is predefined for objects with the similar graphical representation but can be changed manually. DIM: If relevant, type the size of the component. Is Component on List: Select NotOnList, if component should not be included in the quantity takeoff. Annotation style: Only available, if Place annotation after assigning tag is checked. Allow to directly insert an annotation for the current object.

22 GETTING STARTED 18 The Rambøll standard Tag format for lines (pipes and ducts) is: For pipes and ducts, only Tag properties needed for the drawing is required to be filled in. No information is used during quantity takeoff. Fields in the Assign Tag menu: Tag: Note relevant, but displays the sum of tag properties. Free text: Fill in any text required to be displayed for the line. Annotation style: Only available, if Place annotation after assigning tag is checked. Allow to directly insert an annotation for the current object.

23 GETTING STARTED Standard annotation formats The Rambøll standard annotation format for component is: CCS Component Annotation display only the component class and number For components the following annotations can also be used, if more of the clasifikation code is required to be displayed: CCS Sub1.Component display the first subsystem and the component class and number CCS Sub2.Component display the second subsystem and the component class and number CCS Sys.Sub1.Component display the system class and number, the first subsystem and the component class and number CCS Sys.Sub1.Sub2.Component display the system class and number, the first and second subsystem and the component class and number The annotation displays the properties for the component in different setups. The standard for texting component is set up in the annotation format and can be adjusted if required. The annotations contains 4 lines of text which can be turned on and off by freezing og unfreezing the layer of the specific line. The 4 lines contains: Line 1 (Layer T1): The classification code as required. Line 2 (Layer T2): The complete classification code including all systems. Line 2 (Layer T3): The dimension of the component. If none is given, "." will be displayed. Line 4 - last part (Layer T4): The type of the component. If none is given, "." will be displayed. Line 4 - first part (Layer T5): Display NotInList if selected otherwice "." will be displayed. Line 2-4 is intented only for quality assurence of the content of the diagram and should be turned off before completing the drawing. The Rambøll standard annotation format for lines (ducts and pipes) is: Tekst displays the text assigned in the Tag of the line. The standard for texting lines (ducts and pipes) is set up in the annotation format.

24 GETTING STARTED ANNOTATION TEXT LAYERS The annotation text for the different annotation formats is placed on different layers to ensure you can show the information relevant for the situation. Some layers are for submission and some layers are only valid for checking the data of each component. 25 GETTING STARTED EDITING SYMBOL PROPERTIES There are different ways to edit a symbols properties, one is to open the symbols property window. The symbols property window gives the possibility to see all a symbols properties and alter most of them Editing properties for a single symbol Right click on the symbol and select "Properties" In the properties window it is possible to alter and see the symbols different properties. General it is possible to set settings impacting the layout of the drawing. Only experienced people should make alteration her. Geometry it is possible to alter the position of the symbol by defining coordinates for the symbols inserting point. It is also possible to define the scale of the symbol either in the X axes

26 GETTING STARTED 22 or the Y axes. If a uniform scale factor is required remember that the X and Y scale factor must be the same. Misc this only gives information about the symbol name P&ID it is only the area showed in the red box that is used in the Rambøll P&ID template. Here it is possible to alter the same information as in the tag settings. But it is also here the settings for not on list, name and types of Komponent_CCS is set Editing multiple symbols Start by selecting all the symbols for editing, right click on one of them and select "Properties". In the properties window, all properties that are common for the selected symbols are shown, and all values that the selected symbols have in common are shown as the actual value. Where values differ in the selected symbols, it is shown as *VARIES*. If one of the values is edited, it will apply for all selected symbols.

27 GETTING STARTED CONNECTING EQUIPMENT, INSERT PIPE LINES When you have placed equipment, the next step is to connect the equipment using Pipe Lines. In the Rambøll P&ID Tool Palette, all relevant media for pipes and ventilation are available. Selecting the desired line type in the Tool Palette activates the pipeline command. To connect the line to the equipment, click the equipment and drag the mouse in the desired direction Flow direction Note that the flow of the pipe is defined by the direction you draw. For instance, if you start from the heat exchanger, the flow is from the heat exchanger. In Rambøll we don't usually have flow direction arrows on diagrams, but if you want to place flow arrows they can be selected from the Tool Palette in the "Rørforbindelser" folder. The arrow will automatically follow the direction of the flow when inserted. When inserting for instance a check valve, it will also automatically follow the flow direction.

28 GETTING STARTED Change flow direction on Pipe The flow direction on a pipe can be changed by selecting the pipe, right click, Schematic Line Edit, Reverse Flow. The check valve and flow arrow will automatically change direction Information on Pipe Lines To see where a line is going and where it is coming from, you can move over the line with the mouse pointer. A Tool Tip will appear with some information about the line. The information is more relevant if equipment etc. is tagged. 15. SETTING LINE SIZES To add dimension on a pipe line, Assign Tag to the pipe line and the annotation "Tekst"

29 GETTING STARTED DRAW AN ANGLED PIPE LINE Typically a P&ID diagram is drawn with straight lines (horizontal and vertical) to maintain a schematic that is easy to read. Sometimes it is necessary to draw angled pipe lines. To draw an angled line, the setting called "Slineortho" must be changed. The value "1" implies that "Ortho" mode is activated and you can only draw vertical and horizontal lines. Changing this value to "0" allows you to draw angled lines. There are two ways to change the value of the "Slineortho" command: 1. Switch the Ortho mode on or off in the ribbon "Schematic Line", "Ortho" 2. Write Slineortho in the command line and set the value to "0" or "1" Draw angled pipe line at specific angle When the ortho mode is set to off (value 0) it is possible to draw the pipe line free style at any angle. To specify a specific angle e.g. 45 degrees, use "Polar Tracking". Polar Tracking restricts cursor movement to specified angles. Polar Tracking is located at the bottom of the screen. Mark Polar Tracking so it turns blue, then it is on (or F10). Right click and select settings.

30 GETTING STARTED 26 In the settings box you can select a standard angle or create an additional angle. 17. CURVED LINES It is important that all lines and objects in an AutoCAD P&ID drawing contain intelligent information. All lines and objects should therefore be inserted from the Tool palette. However in special cases, it can be necessary insert AutoCAD lines and curves. These lines can be converted to AutoCAD P&ID objects. Before converting the curved lines to P&ID objects, they should be converted into a poly line. To convert lines and arcs into a polyline use the following procedure: Pedit M for Multiple Select objects Convert lines...yes J for Join Return Return

31 GETTING STARTED CONVERT LINES TO P&ID OBJECTS Before converting line to P&ID objects, it is preferred to convert them to polylines as described above. To add P&ID information to lines and other shapes, right click on the line, select "Convert P&ID Objects" Select the pipe line class in the list. The lines and shapes are now placed on the correct layer and contain P&ID information like all other pipe lines inserted from the Tool Palette.

32 GETTING STARTED PLACING INLINE COMPONENTS VALVES Inline components such as valves can be placed after connecting the pieces of equipment to one another using the process lines. Most inline components used by Rambøll Toolbar are intelligent. They will recognize which direction a process line is going and will automatically rotate the component symbol in the correct direction. When inserting inline components they will also automatically fit themselves graphically into the line and break the line and if the component is deleted, the line will close. 20. INSTRUMENTATION Instrumentation symbols are inserted from tab "Instrumentering" in the Rambøll Tool Palette. 21. CONNECTING INSTRUMENTATION Instrumentation can be connected with Electrical signal and data signal. The signal lines are found in the "Rørforbindelse" tab.

33 GETTING STARTED CONNECTORS When working with very large diagrams it can be necessary to divide them over several pages or drawings. A line that spans multiple sheets needs information to clarify where it continues on the other sheet. In the Rambøll Tool Palette, there are defined two connectors, one for connecting between pages and one for connecting between drawings. They are placed in the tab "Annotation". The connectors are filled in with text by double clicking the symbol and filling in the text at the bottom of the properties box.

34 GETTING STARTED CHANGE SYMBOLS Mark the valve, at the triangle you can "Substitute with another component". Here you can substitute the inserted symbol, with a symbol the same group in the Tool Palette. With the blue arrow the component can be flipped. 24. COPYING SYMBOLS Inserted symbols can be copied with the copy command. The copy command is located in the Rambøll Tool Palette in the tab "Redigering", where basic AutoCAD commands are available. The copy command can also be started be writing "cp" in the command line. Do not use Ctrl+C and other command like this. When the symbol is copied, most of the tag information is also copied. It can therefore be beneficially to assign tag information to the symbol before copying it. To edit the tag, right click in the centre of the symbol, not the text, select "Assign Tag" and insert the relevant text. 25. COPY OBJECTS BETWEEN DRAWINGS Objects can be copied from one drawing to another, even from other projects. AutoCAD P&ID does not allow drawings from different projects to be open at the same time, but with the

35 GETTING STARTED 31 described command "COPYBASE", it is possible to close one project and open another for pasting the content of the clip board. The command "COPYBASE" is an ordinary AutoCAD command for coping object with a base point. Write COPYBASE at the command line, specify a base point for the copy and select objects to be copied. In the new drawing write "PASTEORIG" or "PASTECLIP". PASTEORIG: the copied objects will be inserted in the same x,y coordinates as in the original drawing PASTECLIP: you can specify the insertion point 26. SCHEMATIC LINE EDITING Lines drawn with AutoCAD P&ID are called schematic or slines and carry information like size and media. To make sure the information is not lost when modifying the line AutoCAD P&ID has special functions, which allow you to move, lengthen/shorten and continue existing lines. Several functions will become available when selecting a line. Special AutoCAD P&ID grips will show up. There are not the same as regular AutoCAD grips. The AutoCAD P&ID grips are located in the middle of the line and at the start and endpoint of the line. Select the grips in the middle of the line and you can move the lines in the designated direction. Horizontal lines can be moved vertically and vertical line can be moved horizontally. When there are valves and other in-line assets located on the lines, they will automatically move with the line to the new location. Selected line Lost connection between line and equipment The start and endpoint are called connection points. They can be used either to connect to equipment or to shorten or lengthen the schematic line. If you select a connection point that is not connected to any piece of equipment (the blue cross) you can lengthen or shorten the line. If the line is connected to a piece of equipment (the blue circle) and you drag it from the equipment it is connected to, the connection will be lost. Connection can be re-established by shortening the line to the edge of the equipment. When you move a line in horizontal or vertical direction and another line in the same line group comes very close to the new position of the line that has been moved, AutoCAD P&ID will assume that you want these lines to merge.

36 GETTING STARTED SUBSTITUTE LINE TYPE As with most functions in AutoCAD P&ID, they can be found using the right mouse button. A popup menu will appear and it possesses several functions to modify lines. A line with a specific function can be changed into a different line type. Right click on the line, select "Substitute" function in the pop-up menu. Select the new line type in the small panel that appears with all available line types. When a different line type is selected, the entire line and related segments will change into the new line type without losing any information. 28. EDITING SCHEMATIC LINES Several functions to edit a line will pop-up when right clicking the line, selecting "Schematic Line Edit".

37 GETTING STARTED Attach and detach component Attaching and detaching allow you to influence the "From" and "To" property on a line. Sometimes lines are drawn not connected to equipment, but actually belong to the equipment and should show that they are going to that equipment. Right click on the line, select "Schematic Line Edit", "Attach to Component". Select the component to attach to and the endpoint on the line. On the left picture the line is unassigned in "From" and "To". On the right picture the line is assigned "To" a component. There is a blue dot at the endpoint of the line where it is attached to the component. The connection between lines and equipment can be detached with "Schematic Line Edit", "Detach from Component" Add Gap and Remove Gap With add and remove gap you can manually add a gap to open up the line without losing the information of the line. Remove will remove the gap and returns the line into its original state. Lines with gap in them still can be moved to other locations with the grips. Right click on the line, select "Schematic Line Edit", Add Gap. The gap symbol is automatically inserted to both ends of the broken line Straighten segment When a stretch command is used or lines have been manipulated with grips, it can happen that they are not straight anymore. To make these lines straight again the "straighten segment" command is probably the easiest way to establish that. Right click on the line, select "Schematic Line Edit", "Straighten segment". Select the sloping line and select end point to align to which is the point between the two lines in the example below.

38 GETTING STARTED EXPORT/IMPORT OF EXCEL FILES In AutoCAD P&ID it is possible to export data about all tagged components into an Excel file. Afterwards it is possible to alter the data in the Excel file and import the data into the AutoCAD P&ID project again. This can be used to check the data from AutoCAD P&ID, make modifications to component data in the project and it is an easy way to add a large amount of data to the component Export data from AutoCAD P&ID In the Project Manager tab select the Report icon and "Export" In the popup menu shown below, select: Ramboll Component List Ramboll Instrument List Ramboll Valve List Browse to the path for saving the Excel file, and press "Export" 29.2 Working with the data in Excel In the Excel file from AutoCAD P&ID some cells are locked. The cells are locked so it is not possible to alter cells, which prevent the Excel file to be imported again. This also means that you can t sort in the Excel sheet. If you want to sort in the Excel sheet, you need to unlock the sheets. To unlock the sheet: Right click on the sheet tab in the bottom of the sheet, and select Unprotect Sheet. It is now possible to sort in the sheet. When you are finished sorting in the sheet, right click on the sheet tab in the bottom of the sheet, and select Protect Sheet. This will prevent you from altering cells that make an import to AutoCAD P&ID impossible.

39 GETTING STARTED Import data to AutoCAD P&ID In the Project Manager tab select the Report icon and "Import" Select the Excel file to import and select the report one at a time to import. All modifications that are made are highlighted in yellow. Before the modifications can take effect, they have to be accepted. The individual modification can be accepted by pressing the icon or all the modifications can be accepted at the same time by pressing the 30. EDITING THE DIRECTION OF LETTERS IN A P&ID BLOCK The direction of the letters in symbols is fixed and will rotate together with the symbol, if it is rotated. In some cases it can be required to rotate the text, so it follows a horizontal direction instead of a vertical.

40 GETTING STARTED 36 Below is described a procedure for changing the direction of the letters in symbols in a drawing. As the procedure is time consuming and has a big impact on the layout of the drawing, it is advisable to decide whether to rotate text or not on the project. The procedure to rotate letters in blocks: 1. Right click on the P&ID block that you wish to edit 2. Select "Edit P&ID Object s Block " 3. Select the letter in the block edit window 4. Select the Roter (rotate) command from the "Redigering" tab in the Ramboll Tool Palette and select the center of the letter as base point 5. Enter the rotation angle for the letter 6. Select the save icon

41 GETTING STARTED INSERTING A GENERIC COMPONENT As mentioned before, all objects must be inserted from the Ramboll Tool Palette to ensure they contain P&ID data. Bips symbols are available in the Tool Palette. If new symbols are required in the standard Ramboll Tool Palette, contact the CAD group. In some cases special symbols are required for a project or in a single drawing. In these cases the generic component "Komponent_CCS" can be used. The component "Komponent_CCS" can be found in the Tool Palette in the "Annotation" Tab. When the Komponent_CCS is placed it is possible to scale the component so it fits the purpose. To add name to the Komponent_CCS right click on the component and select "Properties" In the properties menu go to the bottom and type in the desired name in the Komponent navn box and a description in the Komponent Type box (see below). If there isn t a need for a text in Komponent Type type in a space otherwise a dot will appear a dot. To make the name visible on the drawing, right click on the component and select annotate and the "CCS_komponent". Place the text as required.

42 GETTING STARTED EDIT TEXT HEIGHT In some cases it can be necessary to change the text height for a whole drawing for single texts. In general text heights for a project is decided and set up in a template before starting drawings. However, it can be necessary to change the decision and therefore the text height Editing the general text height 1. Select the Annotate tab in the tool ribbon 2. Select the text style arrow 3. In the Text Style window type in the required height in the height box. 4. Select Set Current 5. Select Apply

In the property window find the text height box and alter the value to the required height 33. PRINT AccroPlot is used for printing from AutoCAD P&ID. The command that is usually started from the Rambøll toolpalette is located in the AutoCAD P&ID Rambøll P&ID toolpalette under "Redigering". Here you can select plot location "Vælg Plot Lokation" and create a pdf file "Opret PDF". "Opret PDF" will start Accroplot and the procedure for creating PDF files with AccroPlot is followed.

44 GETTING STARTED AUTOCAD COMMANDS Basic AutoCAD commands can made available in the cui file. Procedure for adding AutoCAD menu's in the cui file is described below. The CAD group can assist if you prefer that. 1. In the command line write: cui 2. Select the workspace Ramboll_PNID in the left pane 3. Select "Customize Workspace at the top of the right pane 4. In the left pane mark the tool bars "Draw" and "Modify". 5. In the right pane press "Done" 6. Press "Apply" and "OK" at the lower right corner of the box.

Press the Workspace switching icon at the lower right corner of the screen 2. Select "Save Current As..." 3. Select the Ramoll_PNID workspace from the drop down list and save. Replace it.
