FLEXODUCT At-source Filter has been developed for environments requiring maximum cleanliness, particularly: - Hospitals - Operating theatres - Laboratories - Pharmaceutical companies - Laser surgery - Anaesthesia - Microscopy - Laboratory apparatus - Manufacture of chemicals/pharmaceuticals - Batch production The FLEXODUCT At-Source Filter in combination with exhaust ventilation is designed for use in working processes where protection against unknown or dangerous substances, or undesirable vapours or particles is required. SAFETY FOR PRIMARY USERS By using a FLEXODUCT Atsource Filter, any dangerous substances, bacteria, vapours ect. are intercepted at source, e.g. the operating site. In normal practice, air is filtered at a late stage in the ventilation process, typically just before the air is expelled into the atmosphere. The aim of filtration is to protect both the external environment and the internal ducting system and fans. SAFETY FOR SECONDARY USERS FLEXODUCT At-Source Filters eliminate the danger of particles etc. contaminating the ducting, so there is no risk of the bacteria or viruses growing within the system. This means that ventilation and servicing personnel are free from the risk of infection in the course of their work. SAFETY FOR PATIENTS In the case hospital operations, the traditional point ventilation system does not prevent fall-out of particles from the instalation. A patient can thus be infected by bacteria/viruses from the previous operation. The fall-out of particles may originate inside the point ventilation installation or from its external surfaces. This problem is solved by supplying the FLEXODUCT Source Filter in sterile state with a similarly sterile hose cover, thus preventing bacteria etc. from falling from the surface of the ventilator. SAFETY IN BATCH PRODUCTION On the pharmaceutical industry FLEXODUCT At-Source Filters prevent one batch conterminating the next. The FLEXODUCT is simply changed each time there is a new batch. SPECIFICATION of FLEXODUCT At-Source Filters The filter holder is manufactured from spray-moulded plastic. The filter material is a HEPA filter (EU13) with a filtration rate of 99.97%, 95% or rate, according to requirements. The soction funnel is made of environmentally frendly plastic, which can easily be disposed of, for example, in the hospital incinerator. By adapting a DN22mm sterilised hose (type 901.120), you can come closer to the area without disturbing the view and space for the doctor. Installing and removal of the FLEXODUCT source filter : The Source Filter and hose cover is placed at a sterile area. Put your hands in the jacket of the hose cover and keep the maining part under your arm. Slide the hose cover over the FLEXODUCT suction arm and fasten it by means of double adhesive pieces of tape. By means of the four pins, the FLEXODUCT source filter is clicked on - to the aspirating head at the opening of the hose cover. Pull the hose cover over the source filter and fasten the rubber band and affix the adhesive tape. Remove the source filter by pulling the hose cover down over the source filter. Break a pin or two, and wrap the source filter in the hose cover.
