Employer : COPENHAGEN METRO TEAM I/S Location : COPENHAGEN DENMARK Duration of the Design : 2011-2014 Scope of design : Shafts Structural design, Stations Structural design, micro piles design for uplift, Structural Design optimization, Steel Structures design (PSDs, walkways etc) GENERAL DESCRIPTION Brief Description of the Main Construction Works Cityringen shall be a fully automated driverless metro ring line under the central part of Copenhagen. The alignment shall run from København H via Rådhuspladsen and Kongens Nytorv, under Frederiksstaden to Østerport, Triangeln, Østerbro, Nørrebro, Frederiksberg, Vesterbro and back to København H. The line shall consist of two single track tunnels each approximately 16 km length, 17 underground stations with island platforms, 4 cross-over facilities and 4 construction and ventilation shafts. In addition Cityringen will

include an automated control and maintenance centre (south of the line) at Vasbygade built for operation and maintenance of the system. Cityringen shall have transfer facilities to the existing metro stations and Kongens Bytorv and Frederiksberg. Further, transfer facilities will be provided connecting to the existing regional-and S-train railway stations at København H station, at Østerport station and at Nørrebro station. For Civil Works South (CWS): Shafts shall be constructed at the following locations: Øster Søgade (Øsø) (integral with the box); Halmtorvet (Hlt); Sønder Boulevard (Sbv) (temporary for construction purposes only); Tømmergraven(Tgv); Stations shall be constructed at the following locations: København H Kh (Deep); At/Rådhuspladsen Rhp (Deep); Gammel Strand Gls (Special); Kongens Nytorv Kgn (Special); Marmorkirke Mmk (Special); Østerport Kk (Deep) Frederiksberg Fb (Deep); Frederiksberg Allè Fba (Deep); At/Enghave Plads Ehp (Semi Shallow). Twin TBM bored tunnels shall connect the stations and shafts via a bifurcation, twin bored tunnels shall further connect to a cut and cover tunnel and ramp leading to the CMC which shall be located at the ground level. The tunnel construction may involve the use of three methods: Approximately 7.6 km of twin tunnel using tunnel boring machines (TBM); Variable diameter twin tunnel and caverns using sprayed concrete lining (SCL); Cut and cover tunnel and ramp. TBM construction shall be primarily through the Copenhagen limestone. The tunnel depth varies from approximately 15m to 35m and the tunnel shall have a minimum internal diameter of 4.9m For Civil Works North (CWN): Stations shall be constructed at the following locations: At/Trianglen Tri (Deep); At/Poul Henningsens Plads Php (Deep); At/Vubenhus Runddel Vhr (Semi Shallow); Skjolds Plads Skp (Deep); Nørrebro Nø (Deep); At/Nørrebros Runddel Nør (Deep); Nuuks Plads Nup (Deep) At/Aksel Møllers Have Amh (Deep)

Twin TBM bored tunnel shall connect the stations and shafts. The tunnel construction comprises approximately 7.3 Km of twin tunnels using tunnel boring machine (TBM) The TBM construction shall be partly through the Copenhagen limestone, and partly through the overlaying quaternary soil. The tunnel depth varies from approximately 20m to 35m and the tunnel shall have a minimum internal diameter of 4.9m

From the overall design OMETE SA awarded the following a) General : Design optimization of the stations, Steel structures design (Platform screen doors PSD, walkways, escalators landing structures etc) b) Development and completion of detailed design of the following shaft and stations. c) Micropiles design for uplift in locations Sønder Boulevard (Sbv); Tømmergraven(Tgv); København H Kh (Deep); Gammel Strand Gls (Special); Kongens Nytorv Kgn (Special); Frederiksberg Fb (Deep); Frederiksberg Allè Fba (Deep); At/Enghave Plads Ehp (Semi Shallow).
