The proportion of non-performing loans (NPLs) in the total loan portfolio increased, triggering growth in provisions for loan impairment. In 1H 09, provisions grew by 1.8 p.p. The ratio of loan impairment provision to non-performing loans (NPL coverage ratio) has decreased during 1H 09 as a result of faster growth of non-performing loans vs. provisions The majority of loans, including loans to individuals, are backed by collateral or guarantees 25
