Jesper Bruun Rasmussen
Exquisite Jewellery and Wristwatches this time in a separate catalogue Christmas is approaching, and at the auction on Monday 30 November at 4 pm there will be ample opportunity to find the gift that is sure to bring joy to both the ladies and the gentlemen. We have the pleasure of presenting one of the most expensive pieces of jewellery that we have ever had up for auction. It is a diamond ring with a radiant-cut natural fancy yellow diamond weighing app. 14.03 ct. flanked by two brilliant-cut diamonds of app. 1.52 ct. each in total 17.08 ct. The estimate for the ring is DKK 1.6-1.8 million. Several other large and rare diamonds have also found their way to the auction - including a British ring from about 1980, with an old mine-cut diamond of app. 6.67 ct., and a French ring with an emerald-cut diamond of app. 4.80 ct. from the illustrious brand Cartier (cat. no. 554, 535 and 571). Beautiful birds, colourful flowers and diamond-encrusted teddy bears included in the auction is also a collection of exclusive and imaginative jewellery from the French-Italian jewellers De Ambrosi, which was founded in 1949 in Valenza by Remo Deambrosi. The family s three generations created a unique expression that combined tradition, creativity and elegance, and gave the brand an indisputable place in the international history of jewellery. Today, several celebrities carry this same type of jewellery, and all of the items are only produced in a few copies (cat. no. 550 and 556). For those who like to feel the brush of history, attention should be paid to the highlight among the gentlemen s wristwatches - a Patek Philippe Calatrava model in steel from the 1940s. It has been owned by the Danish resistance fighter Ole Christian Tvede Geisler, who during the occupation was an officer in the British SOE (Special Operations Executive). From 1943 he was in charge of the unit s work in Jutland and established contact with the Danish resistance group Hvidstengruppen (the Hvidsten Group), which received weapons, explosives and agents from the SOE. Albeit not with the same degree of history, the auction s highest estimated wristwatch is a Patek Philippe ref. 5970R in 18 k red gold at an estimated price of DKK 800,000. In addition, we offer more than 30 other gentlemen s wristwatches from Rolex, Breguet, Panerai, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Vacheron & Constantin and others (cat. no. 821 and 829). Take the opportunity to get an early start on the Christmas shopping! Jesper Bruun Rasmussen
