Inspect duct work nd wiring before proceeding with instlltion. Before instlltion, provide inspection nd future mintennce ccess t loction tht will not interfere with instlltion work. You my need the help of second person to instll this fn: one person on the ttic side nd one on the room side. Note: Instlltions my vry depending on how the previous bth fn ws instlled. 5 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS NEW CONSTRUCTION ATTACHING TO THE JOIST BEFORE INSTALLATION Turn off power source. Review ll sfety precutions. 1. Attch the duct connector from the housing cn inside, nd secure using the duct screw (M4x1). 1 Insert tb into slot in housing Duct screw(m4x1) from Prts Bg Hrdwre C Duct Screw. If spcing between joists is 1 in. prt, use four long wood screws (provided) to ttch the fn body ❶ to ceiling joists, NO NEED FOR SUSPENSION BRACKETS. Body Hrdwre ❶ A Long Suspension wood screw Brcket I Suspension Brcket II 3. For joist spcing 16 in. - 4in., insert suspension brcket I ❸ nd suspension Tb brcket II ❹ into the brcket cover on the duct connector side nd the bck of the fn body ❶. 6 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 4 4. Remove the fn junction box cover. Using wire nuts (not supplied), connect house wires to fn wires b s shown in the wiring digrm on pge 4. Wire connections re s follows: blck to live switch wire, white to neutrl, green to ground. Rettch fn junction box cover c. c b 5 5. Connect 4 in. circulr duct (not supplied) nd vent to the outside. Secure it with duct tpe (not supplied) or clmp (not supplied) to mke the connection secure nd ir tight. joist joist 6 6. Punch out Msk from pckging. Insert msk nd finish celling. Msk protects unit during construction. Remove before instlling Grille. EXISTING CONSTRUCTION ACCESSIBLE FROM ABOVE BEFORE INSTALLATION Turn off power source. 7 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS. Mesure the opening to ensure it is lrge enough to ccommodte the new fn body (10.5 in. x 10.5 in.). 3. If this fn is not replcing n old fn, be sure to cut 10.5 in. x 10.5 in. opening for the fn body ❶ " 10.5 in in. 9.4" Instll from below, no need for suspension brckets (no ttic ccess) 4. Remove fn unit by removing 3 screws. 4 6 A 3.5 in. 5. A piece of wood (not supplied) is screwed in from below through the ceiling bord. Suggested size is 1 in. x 3 in. x 14 in. Position the screws fr enough wy from the edge of the ceiling bord tht it does not crumble nd give wy. Put screws in both ends of wood beyond the 10.5 in. hole. Keep screws in rnge of grille. 5 Wood support 1 Wood support screwed in from underneth. Screw is fr enough wy from the edge of sheetrock to prevent crumblimg. Secure the housing cn from below by using long wood screws through the flnge into the wood support nd long wood screws through the flnge into the joist. Hrdwre A Long wood screw 7 8. Attch the duct connector from the housing cn inside, nd secure using the duct screw (M4X1). Hrdwre C Duct Screw 8 Duct screw(m4x1) from Prts Bg Pull existing ductwork into Housing Insert tb into slot in Housing 9. 9 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Instll from bove with suspension brckets (ttic ccessible) *ONLY IF UNABLE TO ATTACH DIRECTLY TO JOIST(S) 1. For joist spcing 16 in. - 4in., insert suspension brcket I ❸ nd suspension brcket II ❹ into the brcket cover on the duct connector side nd the bck of the fn body ❶.Instll the suspension brckets to the joists with nils, nd secure the suspension brckets to the fn body ❶ by using the short screws (provided). 10 GRILLE INSTALLATION Attch grille ❷ by pinching mounting springs nd insert into the nrrow rectngulr slots in fn body. OPERATION Single Models: SIG80, SIG Single speed control mode: Turn the POWER switch on to operte t single speed mode - the LED indictor will be green. Motion Model: SIG80M. Motion control mode: Turn the POWER switch on to operte t motion control mode. When motion is detected, the fn will run t full speed nd the LED indictor will be mber. When motion is not detected, the fn will continue to run t the full speed until the user-djustble time dely hs elpsed, nd then will utomticlly chnge to the user-djustble low speed irflow. The LED indictor will be green. 3. Motion sensor detectible rnge: The distnce tht motion cn be detected is limited to 10 feet (3m). The field of view of the sensor is 90. (Room temperture is 5 C) Humidity preset control (SIG110H) or Dely time control (SIG80M, SIG80D & SIG110D) Low speed ir volume preset control (SIG80M, SIG80D, SIG110H & SIG110D). 10 feet (3m) Sensor Fctory setting: low speed irflow 30CFM, time dely 15 minutes. 90 Humidity Model: SIG110H 4. Humidity control mode: Turn the POWER switch on to operte t humidity control mode - the LED indictor will be blue. When the mbient humidity is higher thn the user-djustble set-point, the fn will run t full speed, nd the LED indictor is blue. When the mbient humidity is lower thn the setpoint, the fn will continue to run t the full speed until 10- minute time dely hs elpsed, nd then will utomticlly chnge to the user-djustble low speed irflow. 5. Full speed mode: Turn the MODE switch on to operte t full speed mode - the LED indictor will be mber. 6. Humidity tolernce is bout ±10%. The humidity switch my need to be djusted regionlly. Longtime opertion will influence the detecting precision s dust ccumltes. Fctory setting: low speed irflow 30CFM, humidity 60%RH. Dul Speed Model: SIG80D, SIG110D 7. L ow speed control mode: Turn the POWER switch on (MODE switch is off) to operte t the userdjustble low speed irflow - the LED will be green. 8. Full speed control mode: Turn the POWER switch & MODE switch on to operte t full speed mode - the LED indictor will be mber. When the user turns the MODE switch off, the fn will continue to run t the full speed until the user-djustble time dely hs elpsed, nd then will utomticlly chnge to the user-djustble low speed irflow. 11 CARE AND MAINTENANCE See sfety informtion before proceeding. Routine mintennce should be done t lest once yer. Never use solvents, thinner or hrsh chemicls when clening the fn. Do not llow wter to enter the motor. 1 Do not immerse metl prts in wter. Do not immerse resin prts in wter over 140º Fhrenheit. Turn off power source. Review ll sfety precutions. 1. To remove grille ❷, squeeze springs nd pull down.. Wsh nd clen the grille ❷ in sink nd dry with cloth. 3. Remove dust nd dirt from the fn body ❶ with vcuum clener. 3 1 Vcuum clener 4. Dmpen cloth with dust detergent nd wipe the fn body ❶. Then wipe dry with clen cloth Replce grille ❷ bck onto fn body ❶ Turn on power source to operte fn gin. 12 TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION The fn is not turning on 1. Power off. Fulty switch 3. Fulty wire connection 1. Mke sure power supply is on.. Test or replce switch. 3. Fn body not securely ttched 1. Be sure the CFM rting on the fn mtches the size of your room.. Check dmper to ensure it is opening nd closing properly. If the dmper hs become dmged, plese cll Customer Service. 3. Be sure you do not hve ny shrp bends in duct closer thn 18 in. to the fn dischrge. 4. Use recommended size ducting to reduce fn noise. 5. Be sure the fn is securely ttched to your ceiling joists. The fn is not clering the room 1. Insufficient intke irfow within room. Insufficient CFM 1. Be sure door or window is slightly jr or opened to llow irflow. The fn is not ble to drw ir out of the room without enough irflow to drw in from..
