2 Aswecelebrateour10thanniversaryhereatATLAS,wearesothankfulfortheopportunitywehavetoserve thiscommunity.manyofyouhavesupportedourgoodworksinthecommunitythroughyourdonationsor volunteersupportandhavebecomeatlas Angels. Wehopethateachpersonreceivingthisleterwil decidetobecomeanangelifyouhavenʼtalreadydoneso.ourangelspartnerwithusandprovidethe criticalresourcesweneedtopursueourvisionof AcommunityoffamilieslivingasGodintended,totheir fulpotential. Iam thriledtoreportthatoverthepasttenyearswehaveputtransformationalprogramsin placethatalow ustoworkwithparentsandtheirchildrenstartingatbirthandcontinuingaltheway throughtheirlivesintoadulthood. Startingatbirth,ourParentsasTeachersEducatorsworkwiththeparentsofchildrenfrom birthtofiveyears ofagetohelpparentspreparetheirchildrenforsuccessinschoolandlife.inaddition,ourvictorytrain Program isacolaborationamong22organizationsthatservechildrenduringtheirearlychildhoodyears. Forschoolageyouth,ourHOPEclassesaretaughtinalGreeneCountySchoolswithanageappropriate focusoncharacterdevelopmentandabstinencefrom sex,alcoholanddrugs.ourchristianlearningcenter classesarebeingtaughttostudentsatgreenecountyhighschool,carsonmiddleschool,lakeoconee AcademyandNathanealGreeneAcademy.OurYouthMinistryProgramsincludeAPlaceforGirlsand ManUpforgirlsandboysateverygradelevel. Forparents,weprovideone-on-onesupportiverelationshipsandgroupgatheringswithafocusonhelping parentsnurtureanddeveloptheirchildrentovaluegod,family,mariage,education,andhardwork. Inthisreportwehaveincludedsomekeyfactsabouteachoftheseprogramsthathighlightouractivities duringthepastyear.withyoursupport,wearegrowingourprogramstotouchmorefamilieseachyear. Familiesarethefoundationofourcommunity,andwebelieveourcommunitycanthriveaswework togetherwithafocusonthesuccessofourchildrenandfamilies. 7 TheVictoryTrain TheVictoryTraininitiativeisacolaborationoforganizationsworkingtogethertocreatepathwaysof successforfamiliesingreenecounty,servingparentswithchildrenfrom pre-birthtofiveyearsofage, inpreparationforschool-readiness SinceitsofficiallaunchinAugust,40familieswith49 childrenhaveregisteredas Riders onthetrain.thevictory Traincurentlyprovidesover90carsontheTrainthat includeprogramsandservicesforbothparentandchild. TheVictoryTrainhas22PartnerOrganizationsmeeting monthlyfortheearlychildhoodinitiative,including representationfrom GreeneCountyschools,local non-profitorganizationsandgovernmentalprograms. TheVictoryTrainisdesignedtopartnerwithnew parentsastheirchildrenage,withthegoalof insuringalparticipatingchildrenareatoraheadofgradelevelbythetimethechildstartsschool. Theparentisthechildʼsveryfirstteacher.Studiesshow thatachildʼsbraingrowsfastestduringthe firstfiveyears,makingtheroleoftheparentcrucialfortheearlydevelopmentoftheirchild.
