4 Samler vine i stort antal Det er enhver samlers drøm at have de bedste årgange af de bedste vine i kælderen. Det giver en fornemmelse af indre ro, glæde og tilfredshed, hver gang man kaster et blik ind i vinkælderen for at beskue flaskerne. Glæden ved at vide, at den helt rigtige flaske ligger der og venter, er næsten ligeså pirrende og berigende, som selve jagten efter at finde den på auktion eller andetsteds. Forud for denne lykke ligger en langvarig søgen efter den eller de flasker, som senere skal blive kælderens guldklump. Det er ingen overdrivelse at sige, at auktion 771 er fyldt med vine, der passer ind på denne særlige hylde i vinkælderen, og vi er glade for at kunne præsentere et så stort udvalg af absolutte topvine i eftertragtede årgange. Flere af auktionens vine har ikke været på det almindeligt tilgængelige marked i mange år og kommer det måske aldrig igen. Helt særligt for auktionen er de mange årgange fra Chateau d Yquem, der primært stammer fra en privat samling. Den ældste er fra den snart 100 år gamle årgang 1911, men udbudt bliver også legendariske årgange som 1929, 1937, 1938, 1945, 1947, 1959 og1967. Altoverskyggende er de omkring 70 lots med 1. Cru fra Bordeaux. Mange af dem er fra vor tids største årgange som 1982, 1985, 1986, 1989 og ikke mindst Det er bl.a. fra disse årgange, man finder nogle af auktionens 100 points vine. Vi kan nævne Lafite, Latour, Mouton og Comtesse i 1982, Lafite og Mouton i 1986, Petrus 1989, Margaux, Montrose samt Petrus i 1990 og Lafite i årgang En meget flot Petrus i årgang 1947, der for at klarlægge vinens ægthed har en afskåret capsule, udbydes for kr. Vi byder også på to flasker af den legendariske 1961 Latour a Pomerol i en belgisk aftapning. En betragtelig del af Bordeaux erne stammer fra en stor privat kælder. Vinene fra Domaine de la Romanée Conti er i øjeblikket særdeles eftertragtede, så det er med stor begejstring, at vi udbyder ikke færre end 4 assorterede kasser fra den berømte ejendom i Vosne Romanée. Der er også enkeltflasker fra domainet til salg, endda en i jeroboam. Auktionens absolut største raritet er den hvide Hermitage La Chapelle fra Jaboulet. End ikke Jaboulet selv har en flaske i kælderen, og køberen af flasken opfordres til at sende smagenoter frem til producenten, der venter med spænding. 5 Collector wines in great numbers All collectors dream of having the best vintages of the best wines in the cellar. It gives a sense of inner calm, joy and satisfaction every time you glance at the bottles in your cellar. The joy of knowing that an altogether perfect bottle is lying there, just waiting for the perfect occasion, is almost as titillating and rewarding as tracking it down and managing to acquire it at an auction or elsewhere. This happiness is preceded by a prolonged search for the bottle(s) that will later constitute the gem of the collection in the cellar. It is no exaggeration to say that Auction No. 771 is filled with wines that could play this particular role in the cellar, and we are pleased to be able to present such a wide selection of prominent wines in highly coveted vintages. Several of the wines included in the auction have not been generally accessible on the regular market for many years and they may never be so again. As something quite spectacular, this particular auction presents a great number of vintages from chateau d'yquem, primarily derived from a private collection. The oldest is the vintage of 1911, but the auction also includes legendary vintages such as 1929, 1937, 1945, 1947, 1959 and The approximately 70 lots of 1'er Cru Bordeaux are of paramount significance. Many of them are from the greatest vintages of our time such as 1982, 1985, 1986, 1989 and not least These vintages comprise some of the 100 points wines of this auction, including Lafite, Latour, Mouton and Comtesse in vintage 1982; Lafite and Mouton in vintage 1986; Petrus in vintage 1989; Margaux, Montrose and Petrus in vintage 1990; and Lafite in vintage A very impressive Petrus in vintage 1947 with cut capsule (in order to determine the authenticity of the wine) is offered at DKK 35,000. We also present two bottles of the legendary 1961 Latour a Pomerol in a Belgian bottling. A considerable part of the Bordeaux wines derive from a major private cellar. The wines from Domaine de la Romanée Conti are in extremely high demand at the moment. Thus, we are absolutely thrilled to present no fewer than four assorted boxes from the renowned estate in Vosne Romanée. The auction also offers single bottles from this domain, one of them even in Jeroboam. The greatest rarity of the auction is the white Hermitage "La Chapelle" from Jaboulet. Not even the Jaboulet cellar itself has this wine in stock, and the buyer of this bottle is encouraged to forward tasting notes to the producer, eagerly awaiting the result. The bottle is in very good condition and it is reproduced in the catalogue and can be subjected to further scrutiny at the preview. 18 online-wineauctions every third tuesday of the month at Chateau d Yquem Verdens fineste vin Det er store ord om en vin, men det er nok også den eneste vin en hel vinverden er enige om kan bære betegnelsen. Slottet fra 1200-tallet, der netop har gennemgået en omfattende renovering, ligger i Sauternes, omkranset af sine omkring 100 ha. vinmarker. De kan betragtes fra slottet ned mod Gironde floden. Den flod, der er med til at give vinmarkerne det til tider perfekte mikroklima, som kræves for at frembringe den søde nektar, der er kendetegnet for Yquem. Få vine i verden er så langt tid undervejs som en flaske Yquem. I mange årgange varer høsten i to måneder, helt frem til slutningen af november. Det betyder, at de mere end 100 høstarbejdere skal stå stand by i hele perioden. Når høsten endelig er i hus, er vinmarkerne gennemgået minutiøst op til ti gange. Det er ikke alene vinrækkerne og vinstokkene, der bliver efterset, men også selve drueklasen. Der plukkes eller fjernes druer fra den enkelte klase for hver trie (gennemgang). Derfor stilles der meget store krav til hver enkelt markarbejder, og man benytter ikke skoleelever til høsten, da det simpelthen er for stort et arbejde at oplære så mange nye hvert år. Man har i stedet for faste folk, der vender tilbage for at høste druerne til verdens fineste vin. Vineriet på Yquem ligger lige ved siden af slottet, og kælderen ledes til daglig af Sandrine Garbay. Hun overtog hvervet som kældermester i 1998 i en alder af kun 29 år. Trods det store ansvar har hun formået at frembringe den måske største årgang af alle i Yquems historie, nemlig årgang Den er på alle måder den perfekte vin. Den har en fantastisk sødme, er helt frisk og pirrer tungen med sin skønne syre. Den er reserveret, forfinet, harmonisk og flot balanceret. Et fint eksempel på samspillet mellem naturen og den menneskelige tilvirkning af et fuldendt produkt. Sådan er en stor Yquem! Sauternes største vine er kendte for at holde i rigtig mange år. Det gælder naturligvis også for Chateau d Yquem. Det er sukkeret, der er den primære årsag til den lange holdbarhed. I bogen om slottet, der er skrevet af Richard Olney, findes utallige smagenoter af vine tilbage fra før år 1800, hvor vinene beskrives som absolut drikkelige. Samtlige smagenoter om Yquem efterlader ingen tvivl om vinens storhed, holdbarhed og styrke. Der er mange måder at nyde denne fortryllende vin på. 19 please note: all bids are made pr. bottle Chateau d Yquem "The finest Wine in the World" These are big words, indeed, when spoken of any single wine, but the Yquem is arguably the only wine that the entire wine community can agree is worthy of this title. The chateau dates from the 13th century and has just undergone extensive restoration. It is located in Sauternes, surrounded by approximately 250 acres of vineyards. They can be seen from the chateau sloping towards the Gironde River it gives the vineyards what is now and then the perfect microclimate necessary to produce the sweet nectar that is the hallmark of Yquem. Only few other wines are so long in the making as a bottle of Yquem. The harvest will often go on for as long as two months, completed as late as the end of November. This means that the more than100 harvesters must be on stand-by for the entire period. Once the harvest is finally secured, the vineyards have been meticulously examined as many as ten times. Not only the rows and the vines are inspected, but also the very grapes. Grapes are removed or picked from the individual cluster for every trie (selection). This places heavy demands on every single harvester. School pupils are not employed as harvesters on a seasonal basis, since it is simply too onerous a task to train so many new workers every year. Instead regular employees are hired to return year after year to harvest the grapes for the most excellent wine in the world. The winery at Yquem is positioned next to the chateau and the winemaker and head of the cellar is Sandrine Garbay. She assumed this position in 1998, merely 29 years of age. In spite of the heavy responsibility weighing on her shoulders, she has managed to produce what is arguably one of the greatest vintages ever in the history of Yquem, i.e. vintage It is in every respect the perfect wine. It has a fabulous sweetness to it, it is entirely fresh and tickles the tip of the tongue with its delightful acidity. It is reserved, sophisticated, harmonious and beautifully balanced - a fine example of the interplay between Nature and the human endeavour to create a perfect product. This is what characterises a truly great Yquem! The greatest Sauternes wines are renowned for lasting many years. This, of course, is also the case for Chateau d'yquem. The sugar is the primary cause of the long durability. Richard Olney's book about the chateau contains numerous tasting notes that describe even wine in vintages preceding the year 1800 as still absolutely drinkable. Contemporary tasting notes on Yquem leave no doubt about the grandeur, durability and strength of this wine. There are many different ways to enjoy this spellbinding wine.
