A: You can recycle your cans and bottles in most of the stores and you get the money back, which is a nice plus, and I don t like that you can t recycling like for example like some bottles like juice bottles for example, wine bottles, I know that there s a lot of people also collecting bottles in parks, and super great for them because of the money issue...yes... Q: Yes good, It s very important because we want to make sure that you get money because some of you are foreigners, even though you ve lived in Denmark for a long time so it s important that you all know that you get money back when you deliver or hand back cans and bottles. Now actually the second question is where have you learnt about it, when was the first time that you recycle and who told you that you can actually get the money back? A: I think for me the system is quite similar in Finland, it s just they take a bit more bottles because for example they take one bottle as well. I did it because I assumed that the system was more or less the same. I tried to recycle wine bottles but it did not work so that kind of sucks.

A: I m always a bit shocked when I go to different countries where you cannot recycle your bottles because it s definitely in my nature to do it, really I prefer to do it, not only because of the money as well but also to do my responsibilities. A: I am bit sort of uhm from the other perspective, my roommate is from England and the first couple of months he just kept on throwing her cans out in the trash bin and you know...we do get back the money for it! He had a friend visit who stay with us and that s the only time he is actually taken the pant down because his friend was so fascinated by the all system and see how actually works. Now I believe he sort of put the cans aside but he doesn t really do anything actively. I don t think it s in his nature Q:you mean that something that we actually grow up with we learn because of our parents... A: Yes...I don t know... he s maybe just lazy who knows... A: in Finland the kids they learn from their parents that you can kind of earn, a little bit of pocket money as well, I think it s a good extra... A: I m thinking that too, I was actually thinking that recycling is part of the Danish culture because I but also many people I know have grown up with it, I can t remember when I learnt it, I think I was very very young, but I just remember I collected cans in concerts, festivals I picked up bottles, collecting bottles so it s just in the culture, something that we just do. A: You don t see them as trash, as rubbing paper A: Yes and also talking with a friend on the way over here, he doesn t understand why they don t spread out more cause it s a logical system... A: Yes it makes a lot of sense Q: Well they say a bunch of really important things, they ve already answered half of the survey in ten minutes more or less Q: Yeah Well the next thing we re really interested in is because we have spent a lot of time with Dansk Retursystem and really kind into it but something that we thought with our survey as well is what the people know, what the consumers rights are when you go back to one of these stores, what do you have to recycle, where you will get your bubbles back when the machine all of a sudden says out of order?do you know as a customer about your rights? Q: What you ve been doing in case this happen?

A: I get so disappointed. And I don t wanna take all the stuff, all my bottles to another netto or another store and...yes run around with the big bag, so last time that happened was maybe one month or two ago and I did not try again because then I just put out all my cans in our kitchen, we live in the same dorms A: I have been experienced, recently I did that, I was living in my aunt and uncle s place and they have so many bottles there were just filling out in their kitchen, and I said I m gonna do them a huge favour taking all these bottles and they were really heavy and go to the nearest netto...walk.everybody was watching me and then I came out in this netto just nearby and they said ohhh It s out of order! and I was like noooo can t be happening so then they just told me they can take like 5 bottles and stuff like that and I had way more the 5 bottles so I can t use it for anything so I didn t know my rights...but then I asked where I can return them and then she caring me down to another netto... Q: You said that everyone was watching you when you had the big bag, is it your impression? Did you find it uncomfortable? A: No no no, it was because I had so many bottles and I felt like.what the people were thinking, I don t know if they were watching me but maybe people think she were to a big party or maybe she is doing this continuously but actually it wasn t my bottles so but I didn t care, I got money Q: Just to add a point since we had this question it s just because we were through this, the shops are actually obligated and I suppose that many assistants they don t know either that they are actually obligated to count them by hand if the machine doesn t work. We realized that certain many people find it embarrassing but you have to ask to count them. It seems that a lot of people don t actually know this and they just keep them somewhere, I think it s a good experience don t go back again so we were trying to figure out if people actually are aware of this or this is something that Dansk Returnsystem and all these shops need to spread out these kind of informations. Because of course you can go to another netto that works and if find but A: In my local supermarket I ve experienced quite a few times seein people...but it s also actually the worst pant machine in all Copenhagen...some quite used to having patient for it, but I have experienced that so many people take a lot of time trying to hand back their bottles... they look like the same bottles that you usually put in the machine and you should get a kroner for that..but it wouldn t work I ve seen a lot of people go up and complain and those from the store would say that that stores doesn t take that kind of bottles... A: In Finland...I m also from Finland I used to work in a gas station and we didn t have a machine to take in bottles...if someone come with bottles we would count them by hand or by

the calculator of course and give them the money. Here, I ve been in places where the machine doesn t work and I m going to ask if someone could do something about it but they ve been said Sorry, it doesn t work! and then they re gone their normal days, their routines so they even take initiative to inform me that they can count them and give me my money and obviously I would never go to that store again with my bottles Q: We ve having asked with netto maybe I m sure that many of the employees they don t know that they have to count them A: But it s definitely also the attitude against the recycling...i feel like they don t feel that it s their if it doesn t work, obviously it s not their fault but they could actually do something about it...or be.i don t know... Q: So, I m not really sure if you re right, I m not really sure that people actually go and ask them to count them individually Q: But actually it could be interesting to make an experiment just to go there for a shop where the pant machine is not working and just try to pushing them accept it and see if they would actually do it...next time A: you should try if you go with 2 bottles or if you go with 30 you should see how they reactive Q: Yes so jump to next question if no one else has anything to say...which is n 4. Generally when you come to the machine and it s spitting your bottle back do you usually notice why that is? A: I haven t really know there s any particular. Just put another one, and another one it, full the machine.i put a new one in and then wait for put another one in,and don t know there s any particular types A: I know just one, a couple of time when it was full and they couldn t take anymore, just go away with the huge bag and find another pant machine A: I know that if the bottles doesn t belong to that store, I mean.. it s not one of their bottles and maybe we can get money for it but it won t be accepted but now I learn it so I don t do it so I take all my bottles and cans elsewhere.. A: And also if it s from Sweden or Norway or Germany they have different recycling system and pants

Q: What other reasons discouraging for handing back cans.. is there any particular, specific circumstances when you kind of decide to give up, right now I cannot think of anyone of them that I do yes machine for sure is the first problem A: I don t know if it s a legitimate excuse but I know at parties sometimes they cut a can in half and they use it as an ashtray but I don t know if it s a specific kind of I don t wanna recycling the cans but it s... A: I want just to say that if they re broken or destroy you don t return them, they are too nasty or dirty... A: Yes also if you used them as ashtray even without cuting it A: and also if you go abroad with all the bottle spring holiday or whatever you don t want to take them back to Denmark to recycle, that s the case A: Maybe it s a stupid reason but those people who use cans to make...like...little motors I havent s seen so much in Denmark but if you go abroad...street art or whatever Q: Yes that something that we didn t mentioned...the street art! Do you think it s easier to recycle plastic or aluminium? A: It s easier to recycle plastic and aluminium than glass bottles, glass bottles get heavy so if you have too much you might break your back... A: I think plastic bottles for most, because when you have the cans and the big plastic bags you fill it up over one or two weeks and it soaks just a tiny bit on the bottom then it all gets sticky...smelly A: I don t know...smelly.and also with bottles, especially big bottles you get more money it s always nice have a lot of one of those one and half liter bottles. A: and just one more thing that it s easier to destroy cans...it easier breaks Q: You ve mentioned a few times the economic incentive that you get out of handing back cans but how do you perceive the pant, the value of the pant, do you think, like...do you sometimes deliver cans because of the money? or does it have an influence on your decision or it s something that is totally overlooked because maybe it s just few korons A: No, no.by the end of the month it s very nice if you have a lot of bottles for me it s like a kind a discount of the food I get.

Q: So you find the pant actually a good thing? A: Yes, I always wait until I have a lot of them because then I m always feeling like to get more money at once... A: I love at the end when you feel that you get free money and you forget that you actually pay that money when you bought that bottle so they are your money that they are giving you back but it feels like you get free money and that s fine, but sometimes if you go to buy like a sort of and then you look p and it s 8kr and you have exactly 8 kr in coins and you forget that those are the korons on pant and I just don t understand why they never write 19 kr We all know that pants earn money, they are just included on it. Q: That s definitely something that we want to figure out as well with these pant because it was higher I guess at the end of 96 and then with the inflation and so on.1 kr to some people is maybe hard and for some it isn t, we are people come up to Denmark just to collect bottles and get money for it So we wanna figure out here, do people feel the price also.is it ideal now? should it be higher, lower? we are trying to figure out, in our survey too, what we can do there depending on what the people feel like and see if that something that maybe it could be change all A: I would say that if it would be more that means that you re paying more in the first place so then people would definitely have more and then people have more motives to return them but at the same I would definitely not give my bottle to another person to collect because I would think ohh he s gonna get 5kr from this one thing that I could get.i don t know...yeah then I would definitely keep everything from myself Q: But then this imply that you actually are willing to pay more? A: Yes.No! I don t know! because if I have a party and then I would buy like 24 case of beers I would be very secure that if I pay already 15 kr extra for the pant I make sure that all the bottle and cans after all A: In the summer you are more ok to give it because it s only one kr A: Exactly A: I don t think I would be ok to pay more money on buying something...as you say it s irritating..i have to pay more money then you are happy when they return it back but I don t want to be. Buy the bottle and earn money buying stuff...you know it s 1 or 2 kr.you know... and then you actually have the possibility to throw it out and using for something else instead of buy this bottle and get money...yeah I just think it s too much money

Q: Actually it s interesting because 100% of juice they don t charge any pant...it s according to law and we couldn t really figure out why, there is a reason for sure but it s just really hard to figure it out but they decide it what goods should have a pant and what should not Q: Moving on to the next question, we are very interested of the Danish system compare to others countries. we mentioned Finland, England I ve been travelling a lot and I m very interesting to learn about the other systems in other countries what do you think about other countries system compare to the Danish system? A: I like the Finnish system but there is a one info pant bottle, if you take out your bottles and cans you can take everything and you will be able return everything So even if you wouldn t like... for example if you wouldn t get any pant for it but you couldn t return it and you return them and they would accept them because it s so annoying find the place to recycke I still have no idea where I should recycle the one bottle...i have a bunch of bottle in my room now and I have no idea where to put because no place to put it them and many are closed. A: I think I don t know too much about foreign pant system when I was in New Zeland they didn t have a sort of, but everybody was saving the pocket on it, they have different trash cans, they have paper and also have plastic, cans..everything was divided.they were recycling friendly without any incentives A: I know in Italy when I was living in a family they have the same paper metal and plastic and metal recycling and everyday there was a different collecting that come by Every Wednesday there were a metal people that coming by and put there outside, at least were I lived, in Milan Q; Is it the municipality system or is it private s collecting? A: I have no idea, I wasn t so interested, yes but I was helping them to recycle In Ireland and in the US, I don t know about plastic but especially with scrap metal, you collect them and you have like a kilo price I guess, that s all I know A:This is not really into pant, but it s not quite visible around Copenhagen where you can put bottles and stuff like that i ve been trying to end up in mail boxes available.i m quite lucky I have one in my street but I think it s definitely one of that thing that they could maybe do, I don t know if it s under the pant system Q: How is it one of those.this big recycling station where you can hand back bottles

A: I ve been very lucky because there are one or two in the same roof where I put normal trash...for glass recycling A: We have paper and battery is pretty cool A: In Frederiksberg if you have a normal house...house you can ask for build can when you can put food an organic recycling. Q: Then you order these boxes and they you fill them up and then what do you do with it.? A: There s a wrap paper around it and you can see is not normal trash and then I guess somebody would pick it up Q: I heard that the recycling should be a lot better than here in Copenhagen. there are some appartment to divide the garbage... A: In Belgium they have kind of the same system...in Brussels they have normal trashcan and another bin for bottles and cans but in the countryside there was one for the all town In the capital was fine but in the other places nobody care about it because nobody wants to go to the city center to throw it in the recycling garbage but they throw it out around there A: Yes even though you have the possibility to recycle it doesn t mean that everybody does it Q: And the conception is not the same either...there are really alcoholic people like me and others that don t really consume beers or juice... A: A lot of people here in the summer they bring the beers back to Germany and they have the danish pants on Q: if you guys are aware of the alternative ways to get your bottles and cans recycled, like this thing called Pantboersen which is something that we discovered and we wanted to figure out if you guys have heard about? A: NO A: Never A: What is it? Q: Like they are trying to make more social initiatives but the most common one is one called communication line so if I didn t want to go down with all my pant then you would be able

to contact the Pantboersen that has connection with some pant collector around here in Copenhagen...so you can call them and they can come to your place and pick them up I guess people want the money for themselves at the end of the month it s not...anyway so the other people who doesn t matter, and then at least through this way they have the opportunity to get somebody to pick them up an people that need money will get it as longest the machine works A: Actually I have heard about it in the TV Q: What do guys think about this idea? A: It s really nice A: Great! Q: If you don t need the money at the end of the month you will properly use it or...? A: Yes A: That s so cool people who need the money can get it Q: Last one before the break Generally the place where you ve been go to school/ work and so on, how do you find the possibility of free recycling facilities if you drink a bottle of something in the middle of school is there some place to throw it in or it s just trash bin?or at work... How do you find the facilities? A: Actually I was thinking of this yesterday in Ruc I was in the library, I was eating pizza and there wasn t a place where throw it in the box and cans and it was so weird...i was so confused so I packed it and I took it home. Q: That s important is our survey whether people think that is easier or not recycling at home or go down or if you have the opportunity...so this is something that we re willing to know if they have the opportunity to recycling in places where is not at home Q: Is it easy in Copenhagen recycling when you just walk around? A: There s a lot of people collecting and you can find somebody that will come, you just put your can near the trash bin and surely somebody will come and pick them up A: yes, totally agree, there are a lot of people collecting bottles A: In one of the offices I work we only have those tiny glasses and bottles where you can drink water or juice. When they showed me That s the fridge and that s the box where you

can put it...so they re like put in there and don t put in the trash but other ways I ve never seen. ohh At school I had these carton boxes with the little hole, I pretty sure it was for recycling A: In the KU campus there s some carton boxes I think for it, some sort of system like this A: But It doesn t mean they use it A: yes because there are not so invisible, people pass by and they say oh there is one of this here i ve never Q: So you think guys there s a focus on recycling? A: mmmh not enough they could do more in funny ways Q: Sorry did you say that in KU there are facilities? A: In a one of the KU campus I think it s humanistic but only in a building but it s a huge campus A: One of my friends they have sort of, i can t remember they kind of a strange system, but they use the pants to do parties there and make the beers cheaper, and so people can put the pant there to make the parties cheaper like incentives for party Q: It seems that we are the only green university which hasn t have recycling facilities because I ve never seen it in RUC A: At my job we have a basement and everyone quite focus in the recycling things.very proud of that A: if you have a box to put it, but many places don t have it Q: But the trash bins that you have in your workplace there are ordinary ones, they are not for special deliveries of cans...it s not for cans? bottles with pant right? A: Just everything, and then in the basement we have special ones. Q: In the early 2000 Dansk return system had a marketing scheme, they have a lot of advertisement, but they sort of sort because they didn t people that could work anymore they see like 89% return rates was pretty good, so they stop doing it but do you agree...yes? Q: It was normally that it was more, we went and we spoke with them and they said that they start in the middle of 2000 because of like the all marketing was for telling people that recycling was necessity with the global warming and everything, so I have to say that they

decide to not spend more money on this. Then it s why we had also these informative questions about your rights and stuff, if you are interesting if we were to propose to...when we will meet again with dansk return system that you should actually do a campaign like that for information whether there s some things that we discuss before.something that you feel they could do more with as a marketing campaign with informing people about their rights for instance or if you are satisfy with knowing Q:Do you believe should be more marketing more advertisement just a sort of increase the all thinking, information and topic perhaps also help the recycle rice or do you agree that A: I would say yes and no, I think it s part of our culture so many people does it on the other hand there s a lot of people throwing their garbage out of their window, I can t remember but if you throw something out in nature the nature will throw it back at you. I will I would rather have campaigns that took to be environment, be more offensive in a way because I don t think so many people recycle but it is a few % of the popolation or certain types of people don t care of nature, they just throw it out everything that percentage you have to focus on and not ehm most people on society so that s why yes and now A: I agree it could be nice have more campaigns and renew the way we see recycling and the opportunity is to recycle so could be easier for everybody and it s also really nice to speak about it in.yes.you think about it more, and I would definitely go home and think about it a lot easier about it today, it s good speak about it more A: It would be good know what happens to the cans that you don t recycle as well where do they end up? If they end up in a forest does anybody do about it? Is someone who s gonna be on a walk? Or they re gonna pick it up or just they gonna be like Fuck it it s not mine, I didn t put it there and in the US it s just reminded me they made a campaign that the but trackers in different kind of garbage and then they tracked it and then they were drawing a map where do different stuff end up in and if I throw a can or a bottle in a trash would it be recycled by someone else or is it just kind a be burnt with the rest of the trash maybe it s how you can motivate the people you are a bad person if you don t put it in the right place! This and this happens. A: Those would be better marketing ideas then actually you know everybody knows that you get money from pants and also the right things that we were talking before.personally ok good, I know it now personally I wouldn t spend lot of money on making advertisement saying do you know you can get to counti don t know if people would really care.people who care it enough they do care anyway so much rather spend money on those kind of campaign than actually good pant system because people know how works. A:If I throw a can in a forest what does it do to the nature, would the nature try to dissolve it? Would it destroy it or

Q:It takes much than 2000 years for aluminium A:Like I wouldn t not be there to see what happens that s for sure A: I also saw a picture on fb of a cow eating cans and then it was awful to watch but I think sometimes you have to be a little be strong to see this is actually what happens A: I think also cause they make a big deal of those plastic rings ad there are a lot of pic of animals stuck in that ring Q: Did you notice that they don t have anymore those 6... A: Yes! Because they have a new different form of plastic A: Yes but it s also what I appreciate in Roskilde, they just separate cans, maybe it s harder to carry, but it doesn t matter cause so you would have a lot of those plastic ring everywhere Q: We can go on with the other question.from our survey results that there were really a lot of problems with the machine that were not be able to scan them t he code pin scratched off every material should be used and still there If you have any suggestions or sort of idea for us like this could be fixed in some sort, just quickly because then I m going to introduce the idea that Dansk return system is working currently with trying to fix this problem. A: Make the machine accepted them like wouldn t be as sensative put them I don t know in other bin like I don t what happen where they go but I assume they re going to different places.also put bin outside on the machine where you can put bottles that they do not accept so actually collecting somewhere instead of throw it away in the normal trash Q: Like a more friendly service A: Because the interesting thing is what you see the other, opposite side of the machine all this cans and stuff they are smatch them together, because if you have all bottles it would fill to much. What Danske return system is been trying to do right now is we unfortunately don t have the presentation Alex and I when we went there to see it.you get these big bags in the beginning instead where you have the scanning code on the bag instead of in the trash and you just pull all your bottles down in that.about 100 bottles to then you will just take this huge machine or box instead, scan the code, coming with your electronic card, then they count it later on, because they have all the bottles and once they counted into their system they will transfer the money to your card as soonest they have counted the bottles. Q: Basically you can self declare how much you ll be handing in and they can double check it and in case the amount is right they transfer the money in your bank account so that you

don t get stuck there the machine trying to figure out how to make the machine accepted your cans, they ll just take it the big bag that you deliver and then A: So that is means that you put all the bottles or cans or only those that the machine doesn t accept Q:It s against only for the bottle and cans that they are accepted from Dansk return system They would still accepted but they would not give you money for those that are not included Q: With your opinions on it, it would be enough or do you think there would be problematic that it would be only these huge bags it may not solve all the problems A: It s fine because you have somewhere to put it but for me at least I have the feeling that somebody at some point throw it out anyway so I have no idea I m used to think but I wouldn t feel the same way cause I wouldn t really know where they re going or A:I don t know if the bag is huge me as a private person I don t have the need for it I don t return a 1000 bottles a month maybe for big company it s definitely thing to make them returning there easier Q: One of the ideas is fine you don t have to take every can and do it like this and then wait until scan and then the next.you know one every second, especially when you had a big party and then you have 100s bottles what do you think of that with that help? Would you actually use this just to get away handling dirty bottles and just put them in a bag and then just scan them? A:Maybe if I get the bag in my mail Q:Yes yes because actually now you have to buy at them A.Do you pay for it? Q:Yes but you get the money back when you A:I think I would never remember, ok I m planning a party and I need to remember to get the bag to recycle my pants my cans it would be mine from my mail box.perfect or if not like bringing it back if I don t need it A: Or that it would have like those bags right the machine now so you can take your own box and so just put all the bottles into a bag that is already there instead of like remember it it s easier for like everything belong to that process A:I think personally I still keep mine in a small bag taking them down, but I know, I used to work in a bar and we used these black plastic bags throw all like cans, it was the worst part of the job having to take them down so for that it would be great it gets to fill up so quickly and then we had a pretty shit managers so. I mean I don t know what happened to the cans that went down. A: But, definitely it breaks to have a discount, a beer a food after it I don t think it comes immediately in your account a week later A: But it would be nice not to get sticky hands. I hate that. In Sweden they have sinks when you can wash your hands

IQ: t s something really interesting A:Some supermarket has wet wipes. A:Makes a lot of sense A:But it has to be wet wipes.not only I hate sticky A:And you have to buy foods after all ahah Q: Ok, we can jump to something different.about pants just in case you want add something should be more, should be increase the value of pants I think that Camille and Elina they already answer so if the three of you have something to add are you satisfied with the value of the pant? Do you think it s too low? A:I think it s quite good actually A:I m perfectly fine with the price, I m always wondering why there is that price different between the big bottles and the small cans I know that technically sizes is different.i don t know Q: You don t find it fair? A:No I mean actually you have a bigger bottle and you get more pants Q: Honestly I think it s something weird sometimes like this maybe is three kr and the smaller is only one A; Yes if I got only one kr for a bottle it s not only because I said fuck I m still taking the can. Mmmm no I don t wanna want other more expensive A: If you just have small bag to handling in I don t know A: If you could actually recycle this then you can actually smashed together and take less space A: You just need the scan would be fair Q: In Germany they re considering to implement the same system as here in dk to charge they already charge some money but for charge more money where selling plastic bottles this is also made to discourage border trade Q:It s especially in border markets where it s cheaper there and you don t actually pay for pants and you go all of dk drive there for example in Roskilde festival, fill up the cars and go back they think they save some money I don t know if they actually do, the problem is that they don t have any place to handling in because it is no pant on it, they are currently thinking of actually implement pant there to don t have the economic incentive to drive down there yes what do you guys think of that?is that a good idea? Bad idea? Doesn t matter? Q: I guess that because is not really about this discussion is more what the opportunity is actually given to the Danish government for instance because if there s pants in Germany as well the selected price isn t that the Danish government gives actually more money to increase the pants if they thought that people are more incline to perhaps would give the opportunity to do that because right now if they increase the price surely some people would have more bags but whatever is increase by the Danish government A: If the price were increased less people were probably go down to Germany cause you can save so much money, the gas Q: Any of you travel all the way down to Germany to get or to Sweden to get cheaper alcohol?

A:No so expensive also complicated A:I did with my family to Germany A: In Finland we get the boat and we go to Estonia to get cheaper alcohol and you don t get pant with that unless if you want to get back to Estonia with those bottles A: I think you don t get pant in Estonia I was been working in one of that boat in the cafeteria doing apparently the dishes and so we also get bottles that return back and we were always looking is this from Estonia? Is this from Finland? So do you get pant for it or do you don t? and so we were trying to separate those bottles that look exactly the same so you have to find the tiny symbol Q: If you have any suggestion on what would push people to recycle more, would you incentivise Yes we were been through almost everything already but maybe you have some cooler ideas, it s a topic that it s not so often to discuss at least personally I m not before I start working on it I wasn t ready to give any suggestions because it s just so hard, something if you do in the daily routine and you don t think about it but maybe there re could be brilliant ideas coming out A: I have a brilliant idea just because when I return things on recycle is like batteries, light bulbs, only have one or two and I don t want to go in that big central station by bike, it could be awkward because people used to go by car, and it could be nice, just next to the recycling things, there could be something for light bubbles, especially for batteries because I never see where I can return them and they are not healthy for nature A:I was thinking that if you could recycle more things but I don t know if you could recycle batteries A: For me for the cans, it would be nice if you could chose like punch them and put them in a bag and then you will have like a you know the thing when you pay can put your money in that thing and you can get money buy also like grams since you may not see if it s German or whatever the can is A: That could be really cool maybe makes some commercial and then chose some really cool people to appetize to recycle A: Yes they just make more..just make it smaller and out of the places Q; Availability Free recycle facilities A: Yes cause what I was thinking is when you work if it s there aluminium foil box and people may not.if there s a box will do it but if there s no boxes people get lazy and spending half afternoon searching for a box Q: Basically they has the facilities to separate your trash for recycling we were discuss on it and I think it s the same answer that we get at the time so it s very strange that in all Copenhagen we have a lot of trashbin but you put everything inside and ou don t have any chance to separate anything A: Like separate trash bin, like in Italy for example would be a good idea do you think or it s just not be used in Denmark do you think people actually think to where to put it to the right hole or they just throw it on one hole because they are busy?

A: I think there s a pizzeria where they divided their trash cans they have trash pizzasboxes and cans Q: Yes yes pizzahuset but if you both notice it s not many A: Yes I don t think there s a lot of people doing it but you can actually do it, because you see the facilities and also cause I have those, I don t know that strange items for trash for the bike packs but this remind me cooler incentives I don t know look kind of cool, just make a sort of more interesting..doesnt have to be a big campaign A: Actually I see these different trash to put food, paper A: I just notice that Frederiksberg, they also started if you buy a paint and you have some leftovers you can actually bring it back to the store where you bought it like the cans cause it s toxic as well and that a think it s great I ve never seen it before because if not you have to deliver it in some specific places and you never know when they re open A: Also I like that street food venders more and more are using recycle dish papers and it s cool telling to the people it s recycling paper! and then they throw it in the garbage ahah Ii think it s important that if you do recycling then you know A: What are the benefits or cons of no recycle A: Really fact people are divided their garbage for the environment and you figure out you know it was mixed together again and it was a waste of time so make sure that it s going to be recycled. A: I would feel very betrade Q: In the region where I live they ve been collecting like we start recycling 20 years ago and it was a huge campaign about 15 years ago about there were just feeling every city with recycling trashing, then a few years ago in some lands the ve start having problem because of all the garbage was coming up from the underground basically what they re doing was digging and putting everything and just covering it s pretty disappointing when you put a lot of effort in recycling A: There s this big thing in finland, people started recycling buying organic stuff and then we find out that it was also the same trashbin taking everything like what s the point? And then the plastic bags that the sell but then it does it really???? Q: You recognize those because they are really creepy I remember like when I was in primary school I think they were introducing this new system about like one biodigestable things in white plastic bag and the rest in a black plastic bags. And for 5five years we got a lot of information of what goes where and what happens. Q: It s also really important to make campaign with children because one turns teenager you know there s this period of fuck the system and against the rules it s really hard to teach to teenagers Figure 2: Integral Transcript from focus group nr. 2 in danish

They have to take your pant? Because the current value doesn t really matter to people right now.

P:thinks if the price was higher she would not throw out garbage in normal bins. She thinks pants is the driving force for people to recycle. D: answered... 2.4: nope. no one knows 2.5: P: would not sort out garbage if she was out in a park None of them is working 3.1: P: said a bunch of cool things. Make sure to write down her points 3.2.: There should be a container on the side of the automatic machines to collect also those cans and plastic bottles that do not get accepted 3.3: 3.4: P: suggest to increase the price Transcription: Dansk fokus grouppe 2: Transkribering: L: Ja altså, jeg kan bare starte nu.

P: Jeg plejer bare at gå i Føtex haha.
