RAVE The New Radar Motion Sensor Rated IP67: Optimized for Harsh Outdoor Applications
Product Presentation RAVE radar motion sensor In addition to the RaDec and RMS product families, the new RAVE radar motion sensor is an extremely robust product that complements the portfolio of radar sensors. Its rugged IP67 housing makes it ideal for opening gates under tough environmental conditions. 2
RAVE in the Radar Portfolio RMS RAVE RaDec RMS-G-RC Doors Gates 3
Application Sensor for opening gates 1) Detects moving objects 2) Passes a signal to the door controller 3) Opens the door 4) Gate remains opened as long as objects are moving in the radar field 4
Always Works, No Matter What the Conditions Durable and strong, rated IP67 Ideal for wet and dusty conditions Optimized for harsh industrial environments Immunity to rain, dust, dirt or temperature variation Resistant to vibrations and ambient light 5
Intelligence Leads to Efficiency Ability to distinguish between people and vehicles Cross-traffic suppression and direction monitoring User-friendly adjustment options via remote control or integrated push buttons for menu operation 6
Simple Installation Saves Time Time-saving installation via wall and ceiling bracket 2 x 180 installation Easy assembling/disassembling of the bracket using only one hand Swivel mounting bracket for adjusting the detection field All-over detection Snap-in at 15, 30, 45 Attachment of the bracket with one screw 7

Differentiated Person and Vehicle Detection Functional principle Since people and vehicles cause different reflections in the radar detection field, it is easy to distinguish between them Vehicles generate a compact, constant reflected frequency (red sine curve) Arm and leg movements consistently alter the reflected frequency of people (blue curve) 13
Differentiated Person and Vehicle Detection Example 1: door with separate entry for personnel DOOR CONTROLLER personnel relay vehicle relay RAVE Person approaches Relay 1 is not activated: door remains closed Relay 2 is activated: entry for personnel opens Vehicle approaches Relay 1 is activated: door opens Relay 2 is not activated: entry for personnel remains closed 14
Differentiated Person and Vehicle Detection Example 2: door without separate entry for personnel DOOR CONTROLLER personnel relay vehicle relay RAVE Person approaches Relay 1 is not activated: no action Relay 2 is activated: door opens half-way Vehicle approaches Relay 1 is activated: door opens completely Relay 2 is not activated: no action 15
