Housing for newcomers Municipal Council and the housing organisations which manage residences within the municipality have agreed to a scheme whereby newcomers are able to bypass the waiting list and rent housing. If you have a job somewhere in Municipality, and live outside the municipality and at least 30 km away from your workplace, you are eligible to apply for an apartment and receive priority allocation. You are also eligible for priority treatment if you have a job at Karup Flyvestation (air base) and live more than 30 km away from the base. The scheme does not cover youth residences. Homes are available in a variety of types and sizes. Municipal Council and the housing organisations have also entered into an agreement covering a limited number of homes, whereby applicants may freely apply for and be allocated a home of the type and size they require.
