Professionals who work with children and young people have a special responsibility to ensure that children who show signs of failure to thrive get the wright help. NOTIFICATION - an expression of care As starting point, we all as parents wish that our children thrive and have a good stabile everyday life. A notification can be the little help that makes the big difference. Professionals with children contact have a special responsibility to be aware of the thriving of the child and show the care, which a notification is the expression of. A notification will most often be sent in cooperation with you. If you disagree, the daycare services still have the obligation to pass on their concern for the individual child as a notification There may be special situations, where parents will not be involved, in order to protect the child. What happens, it the authorities are notified about the concern for a child? When the authorities receive a notification about a child, they are dealing the case, to uncover, whether the child needs special support. In those cases, where the child needs help, there will be designed a plan regarding how the child and eventually the family can get the support that is needed. In above mentioned both the child and the parental authorities are involved as much as possible.

Jeg husker, hvordan jeg efter mødet googlede på ord som underretning og børnefaglig undersøgelse og da jeg så, at undersøgelsen kunne ende med en tvangsfjernelse, blev jeg vildt bange. Tænk hvis de ville tage Valdemar fra mig, tænkte jeg, siger Nanna her halvandet år efter. Men de mange samtaler handlede om, hvordan Nanna og Valdemar kunne få den rette hjælp i hjemmet Overskud til at være mor Da jeg fik resultatet af undersøgelsen, jublede jeg. Pludselig stod jeg ikke alene med det hele mere. Når Nanna skal fortælle, hvad det har betydet for hende og Valdemar at få hjælp, kommer svaret hurtigt: Jeg har fået overskud i hverdagen til at være mor. Hjemmekonsulenten kommer en gang om ugen. Hun er fantastisk og er god til at guide mig, så jeg får lettere ved at sætte grænser for Valdemar. Det er benhårdt arbejde, men det lysner nu, siger en glad Nanna

ABUSE PACKAGE - with the child at the center On October 1st 2013, the abuse package took effect. This resulted in an increasing effort towards children and young people, who are under suspicion of being exposed to violence or sexual abuse. The purpose with this abuse package is to protect children against abuse on a larger scale than has been possible until now. It is based on the cases, which have covered by the media, as for instance the Tønder-case and the Brønderslev-case. Every daycare has to notify the authorities, if they have suspicion on, that children are exposed to abuse, including of violent or sexual nature. This means, that if your children tell they have been beaten, or if the daycare in other ways have a suspicion, the authorities will have to be notified immediately. In these cases any individual daycare cannot inform you as parents about the notification, before the notification is sent. This in order to ensure the child and the information the child will give. The social worker shall evaluate the notification within 24 hours and immediately after this hold a children interview with the child in question. This children interview will most often be held in the individual daycare. After this the social worker will contact you as parents.
