7 MESSAGEFROM THEPRESIDENT Humberisaveryexcitingplacetobe.Eachyear indeed, eachnewsemester bringschangeandinventiontoour community.continualyrefreshedbythenewideas, passionsandcuriousspiritofourstudents,facultyand staf,humberisavibrantandengaginglearning environment.this annualreportreflectsonthe thirdyearofourfive-yearstrategicplanandwearemaking significantprogressinachievingourinstitutionalobjectives. Inmanycases,thisprogressisrevealedthroughnewways ofdoingandbeing.subtlechangestopracticecanhavea largeimpact,suchasthinkingdiferentlyaboutthespace thatweoccupyandmappingthefutureofouracademic programsandservices.inothercases,ourprogressis reflectedinourphysicalenvironment.atourlakeshore Campus,cranesandconcretetrucksaretangibleexamples ofgrowthanddemonstrateourfocusonproviding leading-edgefacilitiesandservicesforourstudents.within thecontextofthesestrongfoundations,weremain commitedtoouridentityasaproviderofpolytechnic education,andarelivingourvaluesofexcelenceand innovationthroughourstrongandvitalrelationshipswith employersandcommunityagencies. Weoferafulrangeofprogrammingthatisresponsiveto theneedsofthegovernment,ourstudentsandourpartners inindustry.ourstudentpopulationincludesinternational studentsfrom morethan100countriesacrosstheglobe, andreflectsthediversityofthecommunitiesweserve.in additiontoapproximately2,000apprenticesand4,000 studentsenroledinsevenuniqueandinnovativejoint programsoferedattheuniversityofguelph-humber, Humber sthreecampusesservealmost30,000ful-time studentsandthousandsofpart-timelearners. Weareproudtoofermorethan170ful-timeprograms acrossawidevarietyofdisciplines.ourcredentialsinclude apprenticeshiptraining,certificates,diplomas,degreesand graduatecertificates.humberisthepre-eminentinstitution forcolegedegreeprogramminginontario,ofering24 degreeprograms.approximatelyone-thirdofalcolege degreestudentsintheprovincestudyathumber.humber alsohasalong-standingandsuccessfulpartnershipwith theuniversityofnewbrunswicktodeliverthefour-year BachelorofNursingcuriculum,thelargestnursing program ofanycolegeinontario. OurpartnershipsextendbeyondCanadaaswel.Through ourinternationaldevelopmentinstituteandacademic schools,humberhasanumberofpartnershipstodeliver jointprogramminginternationaly,providingopportunities forfaculty,stafandstudentstoengageinresearchand developmentactivitiesaroundtheglobe.humberistheonly CanadianboardmemberoftheprestigiousLeaguefor InnovationintheCommunityColege aninternational organizationdedicatedtoexcelenceineducationand trainingincommunitycoleges andisafoundingmember ofpolytechnicscanada,anassociationofcanadian postsecondaryinstitutionscommitedtoproducing career-readygraduatesbasedonthepolytechnicmodelof education. HumberisoneofthelargestcolegesinCanada,andour enrolmenthasgrownsubstantialyinrecentyearsthanksto acombinationofnewprogrammingandincreaseddemand. Humberreceivedmorethan59,200distinctapplicationsfor Fal2015,introducednewprogramminganddevelopednew deliverymodelsforexistingprograms.
