Welcome to the Jubilee Auction at Bruun Rasmussen We celebrate our 60th anniversary with a unique selection of design objects, furniture, lamps, decorative art, silverware, jewelery and writswatches. This auction features an outstanding selection of the most excellent and rare examples of vintage furniture classics. Finn Juhl is represented by a very fine example of his Chieftain chair and an amazing set of ten rosewood Egyptian chairs. The auction also features a wide and varied selection of furniture designs by Poul Kjærholm, including absolute rarities such as the low PK-56 table with a round Porsgrunn marble tabletop. Hans J. Wegner, whose exceptional and most accomplished chairs have long been highlights of the Bruun Rasmussen auctions, will this time be represented by a very rare example of his Bukkestol chair made of oak and with a suspended leather seat. Also at auction is a large set of Wegner s Cow Horn chairs made of teak and with cane seats. The Jubilee Auction also offers ample opportunity to acquire Arne Jacobsen s iconic The Egg chair upholstered with the much coveted patinated original natural leather. Additionally, the exclusive Danish weaver Anne Thommesen is represented with two fine rugs featuring her signature zigzag pattern. Anna Thommesen, who was married to artist Erik Thommesen, had a very limited production since every part of the work proces was done by the weaver herself. This is an auction first for her. The selection of lamps and lighting this time includes a unique collection of Poul Henningsen lamps, including no less than two of the very rare Piano lamps. There are also several original Shell lamps by Verner Panton, including the extremely rare large Shell Lamp Fun 3 DM chandelier. 60 years old yet still at the forefront of the art market. As a new feature, the design catalogue has been expanded to include contemporary design from 1980 onwards. And we tread the borderline between art and design, such as with Annette Hermann s one-off chair Princess on a Pea. The decorative art section includes a large and striking Fetish vase by Axel Salto and a number of exquisite and sizable objects by Gertrud Vasegaard. The auction also features a large and colourful private collection of amazing Art Nouveau glass, which includes among its highlights a monumental Emile Gallé landscape vase. Featured items of the silver department include some spectacular large hollowware objects designed by Henning Koppel and made by Georg Jensen. Wristwatches are a new and exciting part of our Modern Auctions where we proudly present a very fine selection, including a Rolex Sea-Dweller (ref. 1665) with double red marking from 1977; an Omega Speedmaster from 1960 from a time before this legendary timepiece became the official timepiece of NASA s lunar missions in 1965; the first generation of Urban Jürgensen, Reference 1; and a number of classics from Patek Philippe, Cartier and IWC.
