Sikkerhedsanvisninger Som alle andre elektriske apparater, kan en symaskine også forårsage skader ved forkert anvendelse. Derfor bør disse sikkerhedsanvisninger læses nøje. Før ibrugtagning læs betjeningsvejledningen nøje. Strømledningen kan ikke udskiftes. Hvis strømledningen, forbundet med fodpedalen er beskadiget skal fodpedalen skrottes. Betjeningsvejledningen bør altid være i umiddelbar nærhed af symaskinen og altid følge symaskinen i tilfælde af udlån. Sluk altid ved stikkontakten når symaskine forlades. For at minimere risikoen for elektrisk stød og tilskadekomst, bør maskinen altid slukkes ved stikkontakten når der skiftes pære, skiftes nål samt når maskinen renses og smøres. Når stikket trækkes ud af stikkontakten skal der trækkes i stikket, aldrig i ledningen. Anvend altid symaskinen indendørs og altid i tørre rum. I tilfælde af synlige skader på ledninger, stik, fodpedal eller maskine bør den repareres før anvendelse. Lad aldrig børn eller ikke kvalificerede anvende maskinen uden opsyn. Sørg altid for, at symaskinens ventilations huller er fri og ikke tildækkede af støv, tråd rester eller stof. Lad aldrig børn lege med- eller omkring apparatet. Fodpedalen må aldrig tildækkes. Sæt aldrig noget ovenpå fodpedalen. Lad aldrig børn, psykiske svage, retarderede, mennesker under medicinsk behandling eller personer uden erfaring med symaskiner anvende symaskinen uden de er under opsyn. Børn bør have grundig instruktion før brug, sådan de forstår at en symaskine ikke er legetøj. Dette apparat kan bruges af børn fra og over 8 år eller personer med nedsatte fysiske, sensoriske eller mentale evner, hvis de overvåges af en person, som er ansvarlig for deres sikkerhed og er givet de rette instruktioner. Rengøring og vedligehold af apparatet må ikke foretages af børn uden de er under opsyn. Advarsel om skader og beskadigelse af materiel. Som bruger af elektriske apparater er man selv ansvarlig for sikkerhed i forbindelse med anvendelsen. Sørg altid for orden og ryddelighed omkring symaskinen. Sørg for der er den nødvendige belysning. Fjern eventuelt ringe og smykker og undgå at bære løsthængende tøj. Langt og løsthængende hår bør bindes op. Undgå anstrengte og anspændte stillinger ved symaskinen. Anvend kun symaskinen når du er frisk og udhvilet. Tænk logisk og rationelt. Hvis et uheld opstår grundet forkert anvendelse, mangel på agtpågivenhed eller hensynsløshed, kan producenten ikke gøres ansvarlig. Til denne symaskine må kun anvendes fodpedal af typen: KD 2902 Volt: 220 240 V A.C. 50Hz Max Amp: 1,0 Amp Beskyttelsesklasse: Klasse 2 Ved normal anvendelse er støjniveauet normalt under 78dB (A). Hvis ledninger eller stik er beskadigede, skal de omgående udskiftes af autoriseret for at undgå ulykker. Elektriske apparater må aldrig bortskaffes som normalt affald, men skal indleveres på genbrugscentret i den specielle nærmere anviste afdeling. El-apparater kan være forurenende i tilfælde af de ikke håndteres korrekt. 1
Safety instructions Like any other electrical device, a sewing machine can cause serious, even life-threatening injuries. To avoid this, and in order to work safely: Before initial use of your sewing machine, read these operating instructions thoroughly. The supply cord cannot be replaced. If the supply cord connected with foot controller is damaged the foot controller shall be scrapped. Keep the instruction at a suitable place that close to the machine, and hand it over if you give the machine to a third party. Always disconnect the power supply when leaving the machine unattended. This will prevent the risk of accidents if the machine is switched on accidentally. First pull the power plug before changing the bulb or performing maintenance work on the machine. This will prevent possibly life-threatening electric shocks. Do not remove the plug from the socket by pulling on the cable. Always grip the plug and not the cable when pulling out the power plug. Don t use the machine if it s wet or in humid environment. In case of any visible damage on the machine, the foot switch or the power cable: Have the damage repaired by Customer Service before using the sewing machine again. Never let children or elderly persons handle the machine unsupervised because they may not properly appreciate the possible dangers. Keep electrical appliances outside the reach of children. Never use the machine when the ventilation apertures are blocked. Keep the ventilation apertures of the machine and the foot switch free from fluff, dust and waste material. Children shall not play with the appliance. Never use the machines if the air went are blocked keep the air wends free form dust, fusel and leftovers. Never place anything on the foot controller. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above an persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. Warning against injuries and material damages According to legislation, you as the user of an electrical appliance are responsible for preventing possible accidents through safety-conscious behavior: Keep your work space tidy. An untidy workplace can lead to accidents. Provide adequate lighting when working! Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry, as these can be caught in the moving parts. You should also wear a hair net if you have long hair. Avoid abnormal posture. Remain steady and in a well-balanced position at all times. Be alert! Pay attention to what you are doing. Always take a rational approach to your work. Never work with the sewing machine if you are unable to concentrate or if you are feeling unwell! If accidents occur as a result of handling the machine with insufficient care, or failure to follow the safety instructions in this manual, then the manufacturer cannot accept liability. For your sewing machine only use foot controller type: kd-2902 Power rating: 220-240V ~ 50Hz Current rating: 1.0A Protection Class: II The sound pressure level under normal operating conditions is 78dB (A). If the supply cord that fixed with foot controller is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similar qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted municipal waste, use separate collection facilities. Contact your local government for information regarding the collection systems available. If electrical appliances are disposed of in landfills or dumps, hazardous substances can leak into the groundwater and get into the food chain, damaging your health and well-being. When replacing old appliances with new once, the retailer is legally obligated to take back your old appliance for disposal at least for free of charge. 2

Før syning Before sewing Tilslutning Power supply Stikkontakt Power socket 1. Sæt stikket i maskinen. 2. Sæt stikket i stik kontakten. 3. Sy-hastigheden varieres med fodpedalen. Anvend kun den medfølgende fodpedal af typen KD-2902 til symaskinen. Netledning Power cord 1. Fit plug into the machine. 2. Insert plug into the power socket. 3. Sewing speed can be varied by the foot control. For your sewing machine only use foot controller model KD-2902. CAUTION When cleaning the machine or changing its lamp, disconnect it from the mains. You avoid accidents through electric shock. Sy lampe Sew lamp Udskiftning af pære: 1. Fjern lampedækslet. 2. Fjern pæren, drej mod uret. 3. Isæt den nye pære, drej med uret. 4. Anvend 15 W max. Bulb replacement: 1. Open face cover in direction of arrow. 2. Remove bulb by unscrewing it counter-clockwise. 3. Install a new bulb by screwing it in clockwise. 4. Use a 15 watt (Max) bulb. 7
AFTAGNING AF FORLÆNGERBORD REMOVING EXTENSION TABLE Træk i venstre side af forlængerbordet og følg pilens retninger. Træk ud for at fjerne forlængerbordet og tryk ind for påsætning af forlængerbordet. Hold the left end of the extension table and follow the arrowed directions. Pull out to open, push in to close. SYNING MED FRIARM FREE-ARM SEWING 1. Symaskinen kan anvendes som fladbord, men kan hurtigt ændres til friarm ved at fjerne forlængerbordet. 2. Friarm anvendes til syning af ærmer og bukseben m.m. 3. Ved syning af ærmer, træk ærmet ind over friarmen som vist på tegningen. 1. This sewing machine can be used as a flat bed machine but easily converts to a free arm machine by removing the extension table. 2. Especially useful for sewing sleeves, pant, legs, tubular fabrics etc. more easily. 3. To sew tubular items just slip the sleeve or leg of pants on the free arm as shown on the illustration. 8
Spoling Winding the bobbin 1. Kobl nålen fra med knappen midt i håndhjulet. 2. Skub spoleapparatet til højre og tryk på fodpedalen. 3. Efter spoling skub spoleapparat til venstre, aktiver nålen igen via knappen i håndhjulet. 1. Release clutch by pushing the clutch button. 2. Push bobbin winder from left to right, then it starts winding. 3. Push bobbin winder from right to left and move clutch button, then it starts sewing. UDTAGNING AF SPOLEKAPSEL OG SPOLE REMOVING BOBBIN CASE AND BOBBIN Lås Hinged latch 1. Kør nålen i øverste position og åbn griberdækslet. 1. Raise the needle to its highest position and open shuttle race cover. 2. Grib i spolekapslens lås og træk spolekapslen ud. 2. Open the hinged latch of the bobbin case and pull the bobbin case out of the machine. 3. Slip låsen og spolen kan tages ud. 3. Release the latch and the bobbin will fall out easily. ISÆTNING AF SPOLE I SPOLEKAPSEL INSERTING BOBBIN INTO BOBBIN CASE 5 cm Slids Slot 1. Træk ca. 5 cm tråd ud af spolen og isæt spolen som vist på tegningen. 1. Pull approx. 5 cm of thread from bobbin and insert it into bobbin case as shown. 2. Træk tråden ind i slidsen. 2. Guide the end of thread into the slot. 10 cm Spændings fjeder Tension spring 3. SÅDAN FANGER DU UNDERTRÅDEN DRAWING UP THE BOBBIN THREAD 1. Hold fat i overtråden med venstre hånd og drej langsomt på håndhjulet indtil nålen igen er i top. Træk herefter i overtråden og undertråden kommer nu til syne. 1. Hold the upper thread with left hand, turn the hand wheel slowly towards you until the needle goes down and comes up. Then stop the hand wheel when the take up lever is at its highest position. Lightly draw up the upper thread, by which the lower thread will be brought up in a loop. 2. Træk nu begge tråde under trykfoden og om på maskinens bagside. 3. Læg stoffet under trykfodens forreste ende og sænk den. 4. Start herefter syningen. 2. Pull out both threads and place them together under presser foot to the rear of the machine. 3. Place fabric under presser foot from the front, lower presser foot. 4. Start to sew. Lower thread tension can be increased by turning the screw of the bobbin case slightly to the right (clockwise). Turning it to the left (counterclockwise) decreases tension. 15

ANVENDELSE AF STOPPEPLADEN INSERT DARNING PLATE Anvendes hvis du selv ønsker at kontrollere stoffets transport. Kør nålen i top, hæv trykfoden og monter stoppepladen i de to huller. Se også side 25 for isyning af knapper. Sometimes you will want to control the feeding of fabric yourself. Turn the needle bar to its highest position and raise the presser foot over the needle plate, aligning two pins of the darning plate with holes of needle plate. You may then determine the movement of the fabric by yourself. See page 25 for button sewing application. 16

Før påbegyndelse af syning to start sewing Vigtig vejledning: 1. Kør trådgiveren i øverste position ved start/stop af syning. 2. Hold fast i begge trådender indtil der er syet ca. 5 centimeter. 3. Der skal være stof under nålen før syningen påbegyndes. 4. Start syningen ved at trykke på fodpedalen. 5. Afprøv maskinens indstillinger på et stykke fraklip, før du påbegynder syningen. 6. Husk at slukke på stikkontakten når maskinen forlades. Bemærk! 1. Drej altid håndhjulet mod dig selv (mod uret). 2. Led stoffet men træk aldrig i stoffet. 3. Undgå at knække nåle ved at hæve nålen til top før stoffet fjernes. Important hints: 1. Raise the take-up lever to its highest position before starting and after stopping sewing. 2. Hold both threads about 10 cm to the rear of the machine for the first two or three stitches. 3. Sufficient fabric should be placed under needle before lowering the presser foot. 4. Depress foot/speed control and start to sew. 5. Test the machine stitches on a scrap of fabric you plan to use, adjusting the machine for the length of the stitch and tension suitable to your fabric. 6. Separate the machine from the power system if you leave it unsupervised. Attention! 1. When turning the balance wheel manually, always turn it toward you. 2. Guide the cloth gently with your hand. 3. To prevent breaking needles, always raise the needle out of the fabric when you stop sewing. 19
SÅDAN AFSLUTTES EN SYNING HOW TO FINISH STITCHES 1. Sy til kanten. 2. Tryk på retursyning og sy 3-4 cm baglæns. 3. Kør nålen i top. 4. Hæv trykfoden og fjern stoffet. 1. Sew to the edge of seam. 2. Push the reverse button and sew in reverse for about 3-4 cm. 3. Raise needle into its highest position. 4. Lift the presser foot and pull the fabric out of the back of the machine. STIKKE STING STRAIGHT STITCH 1. Mest anvendte sting type. 2. Anvend standard trykfoden (Zigzag foden). 3. Ved syning i lette materialer anvend små sting(se side 17). 1. This type of stitching is used most frequently. 2. The zigzag presser foot can be used for both straight and zigzag sewing. 3. For sewing light fabric, use a smaller stitch size (Refer to page 17 for dial setting). ZIGZAG SYNING ZIGZAG SEWING Stingvælger position Pattern selector position Satin sting kan anvendes til applikationer, mønstre, initialer m.m. Zigzag er det mest anvendelige universale sting. Satin stitching can be used for sewing initials, patterns, appliqué, etc. The zigzag stitch is a universal stitch. The satin stitch pattern has short tense stitches which can be used for sewing. PYNTESTING AUTOMATIC EMBROIDERY N O P Q De fire viste sting er meget anvendelige til dekorationer og er specielt egnede til vævede stoffer. For alle 4 sting kan stinglænge justeres, så maskerne arbejdes tæt sammen og dermed får et satinagtigt look. Når der sys satinsting vil papir lagt på bagsiden under syning give et bedre resultat. These stitches have a wide range of decorative and utility applications and are particularly suitable for woven fabrics. The Scallop stitch (N) is ideal for edging collars, cuffs, tablecloths, serviettes etc. For all the stitches, the stitch length can be reduced to achieve a close satin stitch if required. With satin stitch a paper backing, will improve the result. 21

Stingene tillader stoffet at arbejde uden tråden knækker. Use this stitch with knitted, tricot or other stretchy fabrics. The stitch enables your seam to stretch without breaking the thread. 22

Monter den specielle trykfod til knap isyning. 3. Placer knappen mellem stof og trykfod. 4. Drej forsigtigt håndhjulet og vær sikker på, at nålen rammer knappens huller. 5. Sy cirka 7 sting. 6. Træk begge tråde om på bagsiden og gør dem fast. (Use Darning plate see page 16) 1. Place the darning plate properly. 2. Place button presser foot in position and attach it firmly. 3. Place the button between presser foot and fabric and lower the presser foot. 4. Manually turn hand wheel towards you, ensuring that the needle enters into both holes of button without obstruction. (Increase or decrease width setting). 5. Sew about 7 stitches. 6. Pull both threads to the underside and tie them together. Lynlåsfoden er designet til at sy tæt på metalkanten, dog uden at ramme metallet. 3. Placer trykfoden korrekt. 4. Fold stoffet ca. 2 cm og placer det under trykfoden. 1. Utilize the zipper foot and select straight stitch. 2. Zipper foot is designed to sew close to a raised edge, thus preventing sewing on zipper. 3. Place zipper foot in position and attach firmly. 4. Fold the fabric about 2 cm and place the fabric under foot. 1. For at sy venstre side af lynlåsen, monter trykfoden til højre for nålen. 2. For at sy højre side af lynlåsen, monter trykfoden til venstre for nålen. 1. To sew the left side of the zipper, set the zipper on the right side of the needle. 2. OPLÆGNING (EKSTRA) HEMMING (OPTIONAL) 3 mm 1 mm 20 mm 1. Kør nålen i top og påmonter en sømfolderfod. 2. Fold stoffet over kanten med ca. 3 mm og før det ind under trykfoden. 1. Raise the foot and the needle to its highest position. Replace the foot with the picot foot. 2. Fold over the fabric edge by about 3 mm and place it under the foot. 3. Sænk trykfoden og påbegynd syning. 4. Under syningen foldes stoffet med hånden og føres til trykfoden. 5. Pas på stoffet ikke flytter sig til siden. Led forsigtigt stoffet ind i trykfoden. Ikke alle stoffer egner sig. 3. Lower the foot and sew the hem. 4. While sewing fold the fabric to the left a little and allow it to run into the hemmer foot. 5. Make sure that the fabric does not move under the right half of the foot. The fabric must be fed into the scroll of the hemmer sufficiently so that the work piece edge runs freely through the groove under the foot. Only suitable materials can be used and some practice may be necessary to achieve the best results. 28
DOBBELT NÅL (EKSTRA) TWIN NEEDLE (OPTIONAL) Isæt trådholder (B) illustreret som nummer 13 på side 5. Isæt dobbelt nål med den flade side bagud. Please place second spool pin (B) into the position for twin needle sewing. Illustrated number 13 on page 5. Put in the twin needle with the flat side backwards. Tråd maskinen som normalt (se side 12) og før en tråd i hver af nålene. Syning må ikke overstige 3. bredeste sting bredde, da dette vil brække nålene. Thread the machine as for normal sewing, leading both threads to needle and passing their ends separately through its eye. Sewing width should not exceed the third widest stitch width, as this will break the needles. BRODERI EMBROIDERY (Anvend stoppeplade se side 16) Fjern trykfoden og påmonter stoppepladen. Sænk trykfods løfteren og flyt stoffet i den ønskede retning. (Use Darning plate see page 16) Remove the presser foot and attach the darning plate. Lower feed dog and move the hooped fabric slowly in the desired direction until the fabric has been embroidered. 29
QUILTING (EKSTRA) QUILTER (OPTIONAL) 1. Påmonter en quiltelineal i trykfodsholderen. 2. Juster til den ønskede afstand. 1. Slide the arm through the hole on top of the pressure foot holder. 2. Move the quilter to the required stitch distance. AFSTANDS LINEAL (EKSTRA) SEAM GUIDE (OPTIONAL) 1. Anvend afstands lineal for at opnå ensartet afstand til stoffets kant. 2. Påmonter linealen på nålens højre side og juster til den ønskede afstand. 3. Under syningen skal stoffet røre linealens kant. 1. Use the seam guide to sew long seams of an equal distance from the edge of the fabric. 2. Screw the guide on the right side of the needle plate and adjust the desired distance. 3.
