In 2013 Amb.Yataniwaselected to pioneerthe devolved County Governmentbecomingtheleaderofthelargestcountyinthenation.As themarsabitcountygovernorhewastaskedwithbuildingthenewly formedcountyfrom scratch,andasthechiefexecutivehebroughtpeace, developmentandeconomicprosperitytotheregion. AlongwithhiswifeDr.Gumato,Amb.YatanifoundedtheKanacho NomadicEducationalFoundationin2009.Thischaritablecommunity developmentagencywasfirstsetup toaddresseducationand rural povertychalengesinnorthernkenya.assuchithasrehabilitatedclassrooms,distributedsanitarytowelsandbooks,andsponsoredhundreds ofchildren.buildingofthissuccessthefoundationmovedtofurther empowerthepastoralcommunitiesandbeganefortstoreducepoverty andvulnerabilityamongpastoralcommunitiesthroughtransformational and sustainabledevelopment.theseefortshavelead to significant improvementsinthesectorsofwaterandhealth.
