THE POT To me shape is essential. The task is the right relation between bottom, profile and rim. And the aim is a composition with peace of a meditative character In opposition to the stone mason who works from the outside in, the method of the potter/ceramist is the reverse process. From mass to room. Form and energy are to break out from within and at the same time be the foundation which support motive and expression. THE ORNAMENTATION Is for me present to emphasize the shape and choice of materials I have made. But certainly also a very important partner, in reaching the final aim. A composition with peace of a meditative character. THE FIRING Perhaps the most exiting moment. It is here you know, if you can enjoy the fruits of the last three to five weeks hard work. Nine till fourteen hours does a Glazefiring take, of which the last three to four hours have to happen with fire out the outlet., and it is this flame, which is the key factor for the coloration in the final product.. This flame is not guided by a computer, but by my knowledge and my experience, before I have faith in reaching the aim: A pot.. A picture of Mind and State. A composition with peace of a meditative character. Only reachable for me through long time of absorption. ABSORPTION A necessity, I would be crazy without.. A gift to handle a stressful world. What delight me like a child, is when I am about to begin a new pot.. The absorption lures just around the corner Lejre d. 17/7 2007.
Kun opnåelig for mig gennem lang tids fordybelse. FORDYBELSEN Et must, jeg ville blive sindssyg uden. Lejre d. 17/7 2007. Per Weiss Keramiker
