EPC development in Denmark: Conclusion and challenges ahead EPC highlights EPC projects Booming in terms of public buildings. So far scarce development in other areas Local authorities (municipalities) Increasingly motivated due to more trust in EPC and commitment to climate EPC business policies Currently expanding with the increased market opportunities EPC promotion and financing So far the EPC projects have been based on the municipalities own financing. The future Energy policy and planning The five Danish regions are just starting a process on regional sustainable energy action plans. Not yet clear how EPC will be integrated in this process Copenhagen is one of the pioneer municipalities with a goal to become CO2 neutral by 2025. EPC might become an important tool to realise this goal

Key performance indicators of CBW in Aalborg, Denmark, 18-19 March 2014 SEAP implementation issues to address Intended CBW stimulus Intended result/follow-up/ Means of verification Issues in relation to regulatory framework SEAP/SEP drivers SEAP implementation Building sector & industries Sustainable transport Local energy production Working with the citizens and stakeholders Discussion on how to create proper linkage between the national guidance on strategic energy planning (no fossil fuels by 2050) and CoM SEAP development in Danish LAs Presentations serving a discussion on how to link the national Kommunekredit with the EU funds Need assessment revealed good prospects for exchange/transfer within GPP and bio energy The example of Aalborg Municipality and the Triangle served shining examples within these two areas Adjust the national tools so they facilitate easy development of BEI according to CoM procedure. The point is that the LAs can then concentrate on the SEAP actions instead of unnecessary high time and resources on the BEI Providing financing instruments for regional and city SEAPs (huge potential), for instance by pooling EU funds/erdf with national pension funds etc. Focus on: Promotion of GPP, especially in the field of street lighting (might be subject for a follow-up event ) Bio energy, especially bio gas. Exchange of experience among the regions
