Problem Based Learning (PBL) Project unit courses Project work Study unit courses Individual examination Individual examination Group examination The Computer Science Department (and Aalborg University) is widely known for its special form of learning which is based on problem-oriented work partly taking part in groups. It emphasises that students cooperate with companies, organisations and institutes of varying kinds when solving problems. Via the project work, the students acquisition of academic knowledge is tied to the concrete application of this knowledge. And in this manner, the interaction between research, the external environment and industry is already developed during the study. The UNESCO Chair in Problem Based Learning was established in February 2007 at Aalborg University. 10
